He's too up and down, and when he's up he's not even that great. His best game was vs the Colts last year and he didn't break a 100-yards or score, he never scores. I don't get where this loyalty for him comes from, besides being a nice kid, why keep waiting for him to come around? IDK what the Titans were thinking re-signing him, but then again they also re-signed Eugene Amano once.

Hes up. He was only up and down when Fisher was here and thats because the staff then did not know how to handle WR's. Took an injury to even get our best WR that the Titans have had (mason) on the field.

Every WR improved last season. Palmer is just pushing Hawkins. Thats all that blog is. We will know what Hawkins is this season, along with Williams. Palmer just wants to push the guy cause Mariani is out, and Britt is a tool. That leaves Washington, Wright, Williams, and Hawkins.

No way do they cut him.

JC. There is no real loyalty to Hawkins. Its just realizing that Fisher was a complete moron when it came to WR's. This staff inst, last year was a slight indication of that with all the improvements.

He isnt great, but we could do a lot worse. If i felt like it, i could go through all the rosters and find out who their 4th WR's are and I bet that hawkins ranks pretty high comparing them to rest of the leagues 4th wrs.

Not convinced Hawk is good, but 50+ receptions last season suggests he can be when he is focused.

Neither he nor DWill have done shat in preseason. We have great depth at TE but after Britt, Wright and Washington we aren't very pretty. On the other hand, we have never had a top 3 as as good as Britt, Wright and Washington (though GIvens, Hill, Jeffires and Duncan would argue that statement).

We do need a 3rd receiver to step up early this year if we want to move the ball on offense. Wright is consistently getting open but Nate hasn't gotten into his groove and our WR3 is usually non-existent. Williams has been pretty quiet this off-season as well. Mariani was finally starting to show some promise as a WR and then we lost him to an injury.

Hawkins isn't doodoo as one poster would put it. He's far from it. He's just not putting all the pieces together consistently enough. When he was in his groove last season, he was very effective. If he gets back into his groove this season he'll be effective once again.

Cook will lead the team in catches/rec yards/TDs.

    SHOCK THE WORLD.

Agree 100%. When he looked good.. he looked really good. So many people bash and say dump him. Maybe im a sucker, but I like the guy.

I'd rather have Roscoe Parrish, released by the chargers.

47 catches from your 5th option is pretty good. I don't know what else you want from him.

Jesus you guys are out of your minds...4th or 5th WR who gets 47 catches for 470 yards and you are complaining about him. FUNNY

If you want to see how bad our depth is..check this out, i'll throw a bone to some tennessee titans fans. In 2008 we used to have a guy called justin mcCreins which i think most of you remember, it was his second stint with us.
That guy started 10 GAMES 14 games played 10 started..30 catches, 412 yards and NO td's. Didn't even get the production that hawkins got being 4th on the depth chart till week 4 (because britt played the first 3 weeks and balls were going his way). Then he became the third, so he basically pulled 450 yards in 13 games. Also keep in mind Cook finished the season on fire the last 3 games and add that our starting QB started to fade badly after a great start (with 4 games of a QB Rating of less than 61).
Hass also had 4 games of less than 160 yards passing each, thats just AWFUL, and if you look at his yards per attempt, he had 6 games in which he couldn't go over 5.6 yards per attempt......WHAT DO YOU EXPECT????

And going back to the 2008 season, we also had our other starting WR called Justin gage, his numbers being way better since he missed 4 games.. specially his average per catch and his first down rate, but still nothing to brag about.
    2008 Tennessee Titans 12 11 34 651 19.1 56 6 13 2 28

And then he remained our starter the next season only to see his numbers drop notoriously..
    2009 Tennessee Titans 12 10 28 383 13.7 49 3 5 1 22
Check the fact that Hawkins got numbers that a few other WR'S around the league get by being 2nd and most others get it as 3rd on the depth chart.

And i implore you guys to look at our WR'S or our Tight End from last year and let me know who was consistent besides Nate..i'll give you a hint though...NOBODY. Hell, even nate had 6 games of 40 yards or less. But it was mainly because we had different players step up.

I think most of our receivers need to be more consistent, but hell...he's in there for DEPTH. After Wright, Nate, Damian and obviously Britt who will probably be back for the third week. I was not aware most teams had potential 1000 yards receivers deep in the bench nowadays as the norm.

That's all i've got to say about that.
