I am glad Locker got the job, he is playing better in camp. At the same time, I would have liked to have seen another preseason game after the awful Bucs game.

I wonder if the crap O-line and WR play this preseason factored into this decision.

With the oline appearing unable to block the pass well, Hass would be a sitting duck in the crosshairs. Locker's wheels mean the defense will have to blitz less, or at least blitz on the outside to contain, rather than up the gut, which is our weakness.

With the WR's, they should face less man and more zones, as the opposing DB's will not want to turn their backs to a QB with 4.3 speed.

    What do you think?

I take the whole "schedule is tough" thing with a grain of salt before a new season. No one really has any idea how teams will perform, minus certain offenses (NE) or Defenses (Baltimore).

Bottom line is he needs to go out there, get experience, learn from the experiences (let's not kid ourselves there will be growing pains involved in this). From the way he handles himself and the respect he seems to have in the locker room I don't think this will be an issue for Locker.

I am shocked that he was named the starter after his performance last game too, but I agree with the decision. Locker does give us the best chance to win no matter what the wait and see crowd thinks. He opens up another demision to the offense and teams can no longer just pin their ears back and blitz because Locker has the ability to take off and turn it into a big play. And I really hope teams think like a few of you on here do, and try and stack the box to stop the run. I beg of them to do this. Locker may not be the most accurate passer, but all it takes is 2 or 3 passes a game with the box loaded and the game is ours.

If we could get a 3rd round or better for Beck, yes. He'll retire next year so if we can get something of value that will help us in the future, now is the time to do it.

That's funny... considering that with no run game, our best receiver hurt, Hass' first year in the offense, and a lesser (expected) defense... Hasselbeck was 1 game shy of taking this team to the playoffs.

... but hey, don't let logic stop you from your pure randomly stated "Hass wasn't taking this team anywhere!" nonsense.

And folks, Locker isn't a "running" QB. He CAN run, but he rarely will.

So we can toss that out of the CJ equation.

That's fine, just no more across the body throws to the opposite side of the field.

Um, he may not be a Vick type running QB, but he is a threat to pull it down and run for a big gain. And defenses have to respect that and it does open up things a bit.
