As soon as that ball went airborne I knew that if a Titan ended up having a chance at it, the Pats would interfere and get away with it.

Pass interference and delay of game are the easiest calls to make (along with false start), yet the refs let it slide... only in our opponents' favor.

As much as both of those games hurt, I'm going to add another date that the ravens crushed my soul. Nov. 12 2006, although it was just a regular season game during a lousy season (2-6 going into game). The Titans led by 19 points before Steve McNair, in his homecoming, led the ravens back. To make it worse he threw the game winning TD pass to Derrick Mason, and if I'm not mistaking it was his 1st TD pass to Mason as a raven.

It absolutely crushed me to see OUR GUY lead them back to beat us on our own field and for mason to catch the winning td pass. Then to see them celebrate after... *real tears*

-side note: the ravens sent McNair, Mason and Samari Rolle to coin toss as captains

This thread has reaffirmed my hate for the Ravens.

I also remember the Monday night game where McNair scored the TD on a no-huddle QB sneak with no time left but they were offsides so we had to replay the down.

And Jeff Fisher, in all his glorious mustache, decided to run a QB sneak.

The Titans did however beat the ravens in the wild card round before this game

How bout the afc title game vs the raiders? Jesus what a nightmare, I can't remember the stiff backup RB who fumbled two kickoffs in that one. God the things I would do for playoff success this year.

RIP Air McNair July 4th always also a tough day for Titans fans and me.

And I was there... so awesome.

Unfortunately, we didn't prevent them from a Super Bowl that year. They weren't that great. Their QB (Anthony Smith?) absolutely sucked balls - worse than Dilfer. It was awesome shutting down Jamal Lewis like he was absolutely nothing, after he had his 2,000 yard season.

The Ravens beat us here twice when we were the best team in the league and Super Bowl favorites.

I like to think that last season our 26-13 victory over the Ravens in week 2 prevented them from home field advantage which, in turn, prevented them from beating the Pats and advancing to the Super Bowl.

Most of the Titans players and coaches I've heard talk about the '01 loss as being worse, because they thought that was the best team they ever had. But to me '08 was worse. I don't think it was as good of a team (CJ was like 80% of our offense it seemed like) but it seemed like we had an easier road to get there. I honestly think I went through the 5 stages of grief. Because I first remember thinking, "The game isn't over, they're going to review something and give us one more play."

2 questions that have come up in my mind while reading this discussion:
    - If we had pulled out the win in '08, does CJ play the next week vs. Pitt?
    - Is the playclock/delay of game a challengable play?

They should really put a buzzer in the booth or even on the field to eliminate any delay of game screw overs like that.
