i take the opposite approach. my first pick is going to be a franchise qb or megatron. i got burned with runningbacks last year, while they do touch the balls more, they also get banged up more. while qbs will generally stay clean. some of the highest projected runners last year let their teams down. AP, CJ, Charles and Hillis kept teams from winning last year. while good scouting and match ups can make up for shortcomings if you just whiff on drafting a runningback. i like to look at runningback around the third. depending on whats there.

1st round RB? Sure. #1 overall, no thanks, a great QB for me all day. They generally score more points year in and year out. Get a really good WR in the second and name use of the waiver wire. Top pick RBs are not early as good of a pick as it was a few years ago.

I took Cam newton first last year and he carried my team to the best record in the league. I lost the championship game by 2 points only because i sat Jordy Nelson knowing that rogers was not going to play.

Newton gave me good numbers almost every time out. That said 14 rushing Tds will be almost impossible to equal next year it was an nfl record.

Wow! You took Cam first overall???

He went undrafted in my league (and most leagues). Best FA pick-up of all time. If I only I was higher up on the waive, but I'm always last since I make the most moves.

My friend drafted Brees with like the 6th pick. Then he picks up Cam after week one. Douche. I needed a QB so bad and offered him a lot for either Cam or Brees. He was stubborn and wouldn't trade either one because he was afraid they'd come back and beat him.

It worked because he won the championship, but other than McCoy the rest of his team sucked. If I had Brees or Newton, I literally would've never lost a game.

I really don't understand why more people don't play in 2QB leagues if the league is 10 or less.

    Default settings and scoring suck.

one of my leagues was like that last year, i enjoyed it more than my other league as well. if someone got injured it didnt automatically tank your season. my other one started out great until AJ, Best, and Britt went down. cant really come back from that.

I don't like that 2 QB thing at all.

Of course, I've never been in a league with less than 10. 12 teams is the best way to go IMO.
