i just wonder if this is VY part two. Locker wasn't exactly a consistent pocket passer in college. Locker might be more intelligent though. if so, he'll be light-years better simply by knowing where to at least try to put the football.

Please leave this fanbase. You sound like a Texan. Locker was the only reason we were in that freaking game. Did you watch it? Probably not you're just another fake joke of a fan.

I don't get it? Let camp open first. Let the pre-season games happen first. Arguing about the starting QB in June is something to do in the CFL when the season starts in July. If things aren't clearer by the end of August then throw up the worry flag.

    Long time to September 9th.

The biggest games of Locker's career have been 3 Apple Cups (he went 2-1) and the 2010 Holiday Bowl. Yes he was groomed to be an NFL starter thanks to those games...let the kid learn first before tossing him into a starting NFL job. Can't hide the QB during the game like other positions.

Sorry, 41-7. Is that better? Is that more reason to go with Hasselbeck?

I better not have to yell for Locker to start at the Charger game. If so luckily I have seats right behind the Titan bench.

When a team gives up 40 points- it's not the QB.

    That's all.

When a team scores 7 points at home against the Texans, and has the number of 3 and outs we had last year, it is the QB's fault. Make all the excuses you want....we will not come anywhere close to the playoffs this year with Hasselbeck, good defense or not, it won't happen.

First of all, Locker was the only reason we were in the Saints game to start with. And, in the final play, all our receivers were being mugged on the ground.

And VY would have done better? Good lord, I'm not even gonna go there.

Of course he (Locker) has a lot to prove. Of course he has a lot to work on. But ya know what... he ain't gonna do that from the bench. I'd rather go 4-12 and get Locker some valuable experience and move the future of this franchise forward than go 8-8 with Hass, which is about his ceiling.

Starting a young QB with all the upside in the world and finding out what you have, and letting him start developing is a hell of a lot smarter than starting a washed up old man who has no future and no upside.

Wrong. And at least the passes Locker DID complete actually went further than four yards, which is more than you can say for Hass.

Yes. Absolutely. I don't get why you people want to waste a year watching Hass lead a mediocre team again. I've seen that show. It leads nowhere. Its time to season and develop the future. If that costs us a couple of game (I don't believe it will) then so be it.

Yep. And instead of building timing and chemistry for months, and being comfortable as the leader, he'll get to do it on the fly. Smart thinking.

You LEARN BY DOING! Him sitting on the bench watching Hass lead this team to a mediocre record isn't going to gain Jake, or this franchise, jack squat.

True. But when they only score seven, it is.

I don't see his upside. I especially don't see all the upside in the world. I keep hearing the word, and I remember Munchak and the Titans front office referencing Locker's "upside" after the 2011 draft. But where was the upside during college? In college, Locker was consistently an inaccurate passer.

The thing is... how much upside can an average college quarterback have? (Average is probably an overstatement... in some games he looked awful.)

Even if there is an upside, the chances of it coming about are small. Locker's college statistics indicate that he'll be a bust. Whether Locker starts this year or next, we'll find that out eventually.
