He wasn't ready as of week 16 last season.

Til I see him this season, that's the verdict.

And expecting him to be ready is not so bad. Half the fans here that act like he's going to light teams up next year when/if he starts is what's funny.

as usual you make crap up.

where has anyone said JL would 'light teams up'?

I think a lot of people would rather see JL play and move along the learning curve as opposed to a MH that is another year older shorter of breath and one day closer to death - Im just sayin

I'd like to see Locker sit out another season.

Aaron Rogers really benefited from from sitting behind Favre. Favre was a douche but it allowed Rogers to be coached and work on perfecting his game without pressure. When he stepped up he knew the Green Bay Offense inside out.

Recently QB's have just been thrown in at the deep end to learn on the job. Many with get great praise for their debut season but then they don't seem to progress very well after their first season.

Matt Ryan, Joe F'cko, Sanchez, Sam Bradford,Josh Freeman.

Only Matthew Stafford has really become a great QB after being thrown in at the deep end. He's ended up sitting out a lot though through injuries which point to sitting out and learning as a backup being a good thing.

Locker showed great athleticism and poise but as Duece has stated many times Locker was also very lucky not to have 6-8 bad decision passes intercepted. A couple of them would have been pick 6's too if the defender had caught them.

Hasselbeck was great until he got hurt. The criticism he gets for the last 6 games is unfair. He was banged up and playing without a running game.

Roethlisberger is the 2nd best QB of the last decade to have succeeded abd developed after being thrown in from game 1.

He initially benefited from an elite defense and a strong running game so wasn't asked to do much at first. As he developed the team changed and now it's built around him.

The best QB of the last decade who was thrown in at the deep end in his first season is Eli Manning. He was thrown in after a Kurt Warner slump and eventually pulled again in favor of Warner because he(Manning) was terrible.

In 2005 & 2006 he posted great stats but anyone who remembers watching knows he fell apart in the 2nd half of both seasons. He folded under pressure and was as likely to implode and cost the Giants a game as he was to win one.

He was lucky that he had a stable HC in Tom Coughlin who believed in him. In 2007 again imploded down the stretch but a weak division saw the Giants reach the playoffs.

Manning shocked everyone by becoming clutch in the playoffs and helping the Giants win the Superbowl.

He got better in subsequent seasons and he's now a consistently great QB. Winning his second SB this year.

Titans OC Chris Palmer is credited (link) with turning Mannings career around after the Giants hired Palmer as QB coach from 2007-2010.

I have no issue with Locker sitting out another season and see it as a good thing.

I'd rather see Locker play.I don't want to see him sit a whole season again. But if Hasselbeck came in and our passing game was great and CJ got back to running the ball well again and we were winning games that would be fine.Who knows Hasselbeck could come in and have the best season he has ever had but we all know Locker has to be given a chance which he will at some point.

Clayton just said on Sportscenter that the competition was "minimal", and that barring injury HB will be the starting QB.

    Titans Fans ... Oh Brother

So used to mediocrity. Stick with the QB who will be good for no less than 6-7 wins, but no more than 9-10 wins because an aging vet having a "pretty good" season is good enough to keep your job here ...

then when he starts playing poorly and it is obvious that QB is on the decline they'll just start making excuses for his poor play, but not give the young QB any slack.

Nothing new in Titan-Town. Just a bunch of fans who prefer the safest route to an 8-8 season.

I voted for Locker. I think that he progressed last season, and has the benefit of a full offseason schedule of OTAs, etc. I also think that Munchak will put his "finger on the scales" a bit when evaluating, due mainly to the potential upside of Locker vs. Hass at this point in Hass's career.

To be clear, I DO NOT see him "lighting it up" this season....he will make his share of mistakes, and a couple will likely cost us points (and potentially games). However, at some point riding the pine has diminishing returns (he would have these mistakes if he starts a year from now also IMO), so lets get the Locker era moving here IMO.

Locker is not going to have mental meltdowns like VY, therefore the fans will have no reason to turn against him.
