You misquoted him. He didn't say Taylor didn't create buzz as a TE, he correctly said, and I am paraphrasing, he didn't create a buzz in general, regardless of position.

 

Since when does a WLB HAVE to be a stud tackler. McCarthy, Ayers, and Casey are all tacklers. Not that it matters when Joe Schmoe, who happens to be lined up at TE, can get over 100 yards without breaking a sweat.

 

Seems kinda too tall to be a center... wierd!

 

Some people will complain no matter what, that's expected.

Some people go off mock drafts even though they're not in the war room, that's expected.

Trashing the Titans draft after last year's draft, not expected.

Remember last year guys when we drafted Ayers he was a softer tackler too and look how that turned out.

I usually want my LBers to absolutely crush the people they tackle but you can teach tackling, you cant teach speed and that what Brown does have. Worst case they have Spoon if Brown's not ready.

 

I am only as good as the information I have. I went to the SMU 2011 roster and he is listed as a DE. I think what really got me to thinking he played TE at SMU is that he played TE in the All Star game which is where he supposedly got seen by Titan scouts. I can't imagine them putting him in as a TE without any college reps as a TE.

 

How did that turn out?

Ayers is still soft. He looked good for about 3 games and then completely vanished.

 

The only one talking about their speed as an argument is you. So what if they're fast? Everyone on this board has complained about our defense vs TE's and we draft an OLB that can fix it. Kendall Wright provides insurance in case Britt can't stay on the field and also adds another dimension to the offense. Thompson is a pick because that's the way the NFL offenses are going, utilizing their TE's. The CB drafted is a typical CB drafted by this franchise, great potential but needs time to develop.

 

Are we clearing cap space for a FA Center/Guard or DE? TE Graham has a huge cap number for his production as well as DT Smith. Taylor Thompson can be a rotational "emergency" DE if we want to keep one less active on game day plus Some D lineman we already have play DT and DE. Osi Umenyora trade???
