Titans Fifth-Round Draft Pick (#145): SMU DE/TE Taylor Thompson

Did he catch a pass in college ever? I cannot find it.

 

Wow looks like he ran a 4.59.

 

I am not so sure he will play tight end for us. I will wait and see, at first I was upset, but this guy is really interesting.

 

This is a good pick at this point.

Our two main TE's are Stevens and Cook, neither are known for blocking.

CJ was a monster when we had a mountain at TE in Crumpler. Adding a 280lb blocking TE is not a bad idea, and the guy was a DE, so he's not shy about getting dirty and being physical.

This was made for those 3rd and 2s that we get in.

This is the 1st pick I'm questioning. I'm just trying to figure out where he fits into our FO's scheme.

 

Just asked Shane P. Hallam from draftcountdown.com if he has Jimmy Graham or Gronkowski pass catching upside and he said the he definitely has that upside and had Thompson rated as a top 100 pick.

I agreed with his main points but his info was all wrong.

 

I would think they made the deal because they had reason to believe he was about to be taken by a team between the Dolphin pick and their original pick in this round.

 

Versatile player. Can he play OC as well?
