I think we have two solid #2 guys for sure. I'm not convinced we have a true #1 lock down the other teams best receiver guy.

Samuel is one of those. I'd gladly pay him for a couple of years.

We always seem to find a gem CB in the later rounds lately. Lets hope it keeps up ncuz thats great value for a skill position. Samuel would be traded to us if we wanted a vet and a pro bowl player, just in the passing game, but u need a corner like that in todays NFL so im down for it if its a 4th or lower. Proven player for a 4 round rookie potential is better to me there.

Eagles have said they'll take whatever they can get for Samuel, throw a 7th rounder their way and we have 3 legit starting corners

everyone who wants this deal to be done, better be hoping he has to restructure first, because they are going to be mad if we have to pick up his 10m salary and he will be making more than our starters

If we wanted to pay 10mil for a CB, we would have re-signed Finnegan who is no doubt a better CB than Samuel.

If we can't get Dre Kirk then make the trade.

He's not a better corner than Samuel. Finnegan is one of those guys who was vastly overrated because he's a fan favorite. I liked the guy two, but he is not an elite corner. Samuel is.

I was reading an article regarding Asante and saw an interesting comment from a poster.

"None of the remaining money on his contract is guaranteed money. All teams have to do is wait. The Eagles are hoping for something in return , anything. Their only other options are to keep him, not likely, or cut him." (Course this could be B.S, so can someone confirm?)

So yeah i think we should it would be wise to wait it out. Course then it might end up turning into a bidding war for his services - which could actually end up being 5-8M per year anyway.

    --------
    Finny > Asante

Now on to the comments that Asante is better than Finny. Even though they are the same position, they dont play the same at all and its not fair to compare them like that so 'cut and dry.'

Top players move teams all the time and we all know that doesn't mean they will have success where they go. Finny was a proven player here and he fit the scheme really well, and would have only continued to grow in his hybrid outside/slot role.

As for his talent, guys i watch every titan game, but also i've looked at so many websites that ranked CBs the past year. He (along with BOTH J-Mac and ATV) did really well. When you have 3 solid CBs and a promising young rookie as well (Hawk), you keep that together.

Granted in almost all of them i think Asante was ranked few spots higher (or even #1) but still thats because Nnamdi and DRC were struggling, so there was no need to test Asante.

As a team we havn't had a solid and consistent pass rush in a while. But Finny and Co. still held up. I remember so many times when completions happened it was during the shift of responsibilities from CBs to a S. Also, the Eagles have a very fierce rush (and have had one for a while now) and it only got better when they added Babin..

I would really welcome Asante, but guys don't kid yourself, Finny was great in the scheme and more importantly was a tone setting player. It was proven that he was great here, that guarantee is why i say Finny > Asante.

Do you remember how good Finny was when we had a pass rush, in Big Al's days if i remember correctly, he was ranked all-pro by all 'em pundits, and rightfully so.
