What those stats really tell me is that the Titans could be pretty beastly at corner with Asante Samuel.

 

I think most of us would end up hating the guy for not being a sure tackler. All the defenders I like know how to wrap up, Asante Samuel isn't one of those guys.

But he does have place on the team. He's a coverage guy and we've done alright with the ones we've had. Samari Rolle, Mike Griffin, and Rod Hood have all looked great playing zone, Asante Samuel would too, but we'd just hate him when he whiffs.

 

Did anybody else see that Morris Claiborne scored a FOUR on the wonderlick? somebody actually scored lower than VY for the first time.

I'd be down for moving up a few spots for Stephon Gilmore in the first. But I wouldn't move too high for him. We could probably find Dre available when we pick, but I like Gilmore better. Bucky Brooks actually has us taking Gilmore at 20.

 

Agreed. Finnegan is (if not the best) one of the best tackling corners in the league. It would be nice to grab a ball hawk like Asante if the price was right, and see a few INTs, but I'd like to see a guy get tackled if he does catch a ball. Wrapping up is key.

 

AFC or NFC, it's still the NFL. Cortland was shutdown corner in Nashville and will be in St. Louis. No need to be bitter.

 

I think the term "shutdown corner" gets thrown around way too much these days. There are usually only a couple of guys in the league at a time that really deserve that label. Well, IMO anyway. I've never thought of Cortland as a shutdown corner. And I was a big fan.

 

Well he better be lol.. he allows 7 out of 10 passes that go his way to be caught.

 

I don't really think anyone in the league deserves the title "shutdown CB" in the NFL right now. The closest we've seen in a while is Nnamdi when he was in Oakland.
