"Albert Haynesworth, DT, Buccaneers. Age: 31.
There's a misconception that Albert Haynesworth played poorly for the Buccaneers last season. He didn't; he was decent at times, but wasn't worth the $7.2 million price tag - or the headaches that come with his lack of effort. He's still immensely talented, however, and he could be motivated for a new contract. He's definitely worth the risk for a 1-year "prove it" deal. "

Again, I say give the big boy a shot. Instead of giving him a 100k per sack incentive (or 1M like Soxcat suggested), we should just put a hamburger or a chicken wing behind the QB on every play. I guarantee the fat boy will penetrate the O-line like it was 2008!

The veteran minimum for a player with 10 years experience is $925,000. (i.e. almost a million)

You don't sign ten year veterans with baggage to play 1 or 2 plays a drive.

There's a reason nobody in the league wants Albert Haynesworth.

You would think the players would negotiate a lower minimum in these cases. Playing for less is better than not playing at all.

VY, nope, he had his chance and although, he may still grow up, I like where we are right now. Locker is going to be our guy. Big Al, well, although he played well for us, and went to where there was more money. I would say at least give him a chance to work at training camp.

I'd take them both back if things were different. Right now, I don't see the need for them here.

They both played very well as Titans.

It never works out when an Owner forces a certain QB and the front office or HC doesn't want that QB. If we had a different coaching staff that wanted VY, things would have worked out differently. Fisher wanted him to fail.

I think Fat Al is one of those players that is a big baby and has to be kept happy. He was happy in TN and played well, but of course we weren't willing to pay him the big bucks. I hope they both succeed in the future but it's not looking up for them right now.

Don't want VY period but Albert i'd take in an incentives based contract or vet minimum type deal.Albert still has it in himself to be damn good if the right situation came along to motivate him.If Albert went all out and set his mind to it he could be a force again but it may be too late.
