I mean, how much more could he really drive up the price? What he wants is what he had and thats already a huge deal. Either he'll get that from us or he wont but I dont see him on his phone every day saying, " Nevermind, I want 5 million more a year, chew on that and call me back."

It's interesting how quick the 9ers got all their meetings done without anyone knowing and faster than anyone else... But for us it's all strung out, pitched back and forth between the broncos. It takes two people to argue and I'm out. We have differing opinions. And neither of us are going to alter them.

You say those things like a team would sign him without seeing him workout and without protecting themselves. He is basically just stating obvious facts the he knew were gonna happen anyway bc it makes it look like it was his idea. Manning is all about his image. What goes on behind the scenes is probably much different

How is there no news on this yet?

Maybe we're not meeting with him today..

Originally someone had said our meeting wouldn't come until early in the week..A rest from 'throwing' for the broncos yesterday..

Manning isn't focusing so much on money this time around. I'd expect the majority of that 90 million dollar contract to be based on incentives and bonuses. This is the financial protection Peyton is talking about. If he doesn't play to his price tag, he won't get paid.

Now, as a Tennessee fan, I would like to address some of the comments being made about the fanbase and where we stand in regards to Peyton Manning. I'm sure you guys have noticed the unusual amount of Colts fans we have in the state of Tennessee. These people support the colts because Peyton Manning played for them. If Peyton signs with Denver, you will see a lot of Broncos fans in this state. So anyone who is talking about a fan backlash doesn't know what he is talking about. Peyton Manning is the best Quarterback in the history of Tennessee. We will support him and cheer for him regardless of what team he chooses. Now some one else said that Peyton might avoid Tennessee because of all the fanfare it might generate. Well he is going to be garnering quite a bit of fanfare regardless of where he goes so basing his decision off of the fan response is simply illogical (and Peyton is nothing if not logical). Manning has been very involved in the Knoxville community and in Tennessee since he graduated. He comes back every summer to watch the team's spring practices, he gives a scholarship to a student each year, and last year he was in attendance for quite a few games. Now I would finally like to point out just why Bud Adams is making this move. Obviously, Peyton will have a chance to do great things at Tennessee. But more importantly, Bud Adams recognizes the enormous marketing opportunity this is for the Titans. If Peyton Manning comes home, every single Vols fan in this state and across the country will instantly become a Titans fan. The fan support for the franchise will be at an all time high. So this move is just as much about business as it is about football.
