Additionally, he has watched Ben Tate gash folks when he was out hurt.

Is there a problem with him maybe trying to help his team by taking a little less? The more he takes, the less there is to go around, perhaps he understands this and wants to win.

Personally, I think he got too much. They could plug you in at RB and see similar numbers. Their scheme can take anybody and make them look good. I think Foster realizes this.

I am glad they signed him.

Firm believer that they could plug almost anyone in there and have success. Them spending money on Foster means they have less somewhere else. If they are going to be good at running the ball with anyone, its good for us they spend it on a running back as opposed to something else.

Why even ask me this? I hate CJ because he's an overpaid, egotistical POS. I applaud Foster for not pushing for more.

I'm just saying he could've easily gotten another $1mil per season.

Umm... not really, he totally whiffed.

Arian Foster was not desperate for money and that's not why he signed for less. If that was the case he would of held out after he won the rushing title and refused to come back and play for peanuts while risking injury and harm towards his "big pay day". And yes, he was playing for peanuts... I don't care if he made more than the president.. he was playing for NFL peanuts.

I don't think Foster is a player who believes money defines his ability or worth on the field and I don't think he feels he has to be the highest paid player at his position in order to know his self worth (just give him a fair deal and he's happy)... if he did he wouldn't of played last season under a UDFA contract.

However he had no reason to be "desperate".. he was going to get a big pay day regardless if he agreed to that contract or not. He could've held out and got the franchise tag or held out with the restriction tag and some other team would've offered him a bigger deal... one that we would've had to either match or let him walk. To say the reason why he signed was because he was "desperate" is completely false and doesn't even make sense. The guy was going to get paid regardless this offseason. He just chose to get paid here, because he wanted to be here.

The Texans also rewarded him for playing for peanuts, because they front loaded the majority of the contract and he'll get paid 18 mil in the first season which will also make his contract very cap friendly after this season... which will hopefully keep players like Mario (D. Brown and Barwin) walking away next offseason. It was a good deal for both sides.

So I guess you're thrilled the Titans spent so much jack on CJ then huh... The Titans run a very similar blocking scheme that we do.

And you're completely off your rocker if you think we can just plug any Joe Schmo back there and get the same production. Over the past two seasons, Foster has been tops in both rushing and receiving and he's accounted for 140 yards of offensive production a game... which is tops in the league, as is his TDs scored. Not every Joe Schmo is going to be the versitile player he is as not every RB can block as well and take a 5 yard dump off pass and turn it into a 70+ touchdown score.

Could we have floated along with Ben Tate... yep, he can tote the rock, but why not have a two headed monster if you can agree on a cap friendly deal (the cap is supposed to increase a lot next season BTW)? You don't let players like Foster walk out the door. Especially after the way said player just played in the postseason. You lock those type of players up and build around them.

It just amazes me "playing for peanuts" is $480,000, for a half-year of playing a sport. What a life.
