Either one of these guys could go down at any moment regardless of which is starting, so both will probably get a lot of snaps.

You dont draft the future to sit him for two years.

Locker will start next season. The "they will compete" is coach talk, imo.

I agree. I see it as "It's Locker's job to lose"

what struck me about this is that Hasselbeck is not a bad QB... his numbers are high, he's come through in situations (and not in some) and the coaches were basically attached to the hip with him... and yet, Munch states that there will be competition next season... the complete opposite of "Hasselbeck is our starter"... which tells me that Locker has progressed to around MH level already in his career...
    ...i'm excited

Locker has the ability to be a great QB. Not only was he able to excite people about our future at the QB position, but he was also able to unite the VY and ant-VY crowd. He brings the athleticism and playmaking ability that Vince brought, along with the preparation, maturity, and leadership qualities that the anti-VY crowd felt was lacking.

It really is a beautiful thing.

With his accuracy on his deep ball, his elusiveness in the pocket, and his ability to extend drives, I think his addition alone will help spur the offense. Despite how you feel about Palmer, when Locker stepped in the offense straight put up points. Our receiving core took a big step forward this season and next year we might make strides at the QB position as well. Hasselbeck was solid, but Locker just brings that "it" factor that is very rare.

I'm not too concerned about our offense. We need to focus on fixing the line issues and that's about it. Britt, Washington, Williams, Hawkins, Cook are more than capable of keeping the chains moving and if we can get CJ to play like he did the 2nd half of this year we might have a top 5 offense. Yea I said it, top 5.

Even though we didn't make playoffs, its good to be a Titan fan right now. There's lots to look forward to.

Young new QB's can look really good like Locker has this past season. This is because opposing defenses haven't learned his tendencies or schemed against him yet.

Don't think for a moment what you've seen thus far is what you're going to get. My Jury is still out on Locker until he completes at least a couple of full seasons.

Give Locker a couple of years to develop until you throw him out there. He hasn't even completed one training camp.

It does appear that he's going to get the starting nod in the 2012 season, but I truly think this is a misstake.

Not true. McNair never topped 3500 yards. His best yardage season was 2002, but for 3387 yards.

Hasselbeck joined Warren Moon as the only QBs in franchise history to throw for over 3500 yards in a season.

    Yeah precisely.

The stat was that Hass threw for the MOST since 2002 at that point, not topped 3500.

He did that in the final game vs Houston.
