Michael Griffin Prepared to Leave?

I think this is all going to play out regarding the type of contract he wants. If we pay this fool and let finny go, ima be mad as a mf'er.

Just because we don't have depth in the back doesn't mean we need to keep walking around with shi on our shoe.

 

I bet cj frolics right over griffin in practice to work on his trucking technique. Think about it.

 

We've cut/lost players before, and there aren't many names I can think of, that came back and bit us. Actually, I'd be excited for the Titans to play against Griffin.

 

I'm not as hard on Griffin as many of your guys are but there is this perception that he is a pro bowl caliber player and will want and probably get $8M a year from somebody.

Yes i would rather use that for Finny and then sign a cheaper guy like Sensabaugh.

 

I believe Sensabaugh just signed like a five year extension, but I could be wrong. Point taken though, I agree sign Finny at all costs and draft or sign free agent safety.

 

You are correct and they got a good deal. Just over $4M a year on average for that whole deal.

That shows we can get a comparable player to Griffin for $4-$5M so why give him $8M per?

In terms of trade possibilities there are some comparable vet players we can get for a 3rd or even 4th rd pick. Kenny Phillips of the giants for example could be had for that.

Finnegan, Griffin, and Hope will all be gone. Our secondary is going to look very, very different.

I hope we can somehow get Tyrann Mathieu in the 2013 draft. He is our next Cortland.
