Playoff Breakdown

    How many here actually think we make it in the playoffs?

    I'll put it like this...If we make it in, I wouldn't be surprised...If we don't make it in, I wouldn't be surprised. I'd be willing to bet that everything we need to happen, happens next weekend EXCEPT us winning. Just the type of season we've had all year. It reminds me of Vince's rookie year when he took over for a 1-5 start from Kerry Collins. We need a miracle on the final week of the season to get in the playoffs plus beat the Patriots at home. We narrowly lost to the Pats at home but everything we needed to happen later...actually happened

    i'd say we've got around a 50-50 shot...

    yeah, we need some help which makes it maybe statistically less than a 50% chance, but if you look at it, a lot of what we NEED to happen is realistically what will happen.

    We should beat the beat up, hopefully resting their starters Texans. The Jets should beat the Dolphins, the Ravens should beat the Bengals and San Diego should beat the Raiders.

    Giants-Cowboys was flexed so no hope for the Titans getting a primetime game this season.

    I would love nothing better than to face the Houston Texans again the very next week in a playoff game.That would be our one chance to finally shut them up once and for all.To beat them at their own house would make it that much more sweeter........

    Here's how I think of it:

    Titans must win (over Texans).
    Bengals must lose (to Ravens).

    Plus, Titans must be in a three-way tie, which means:

    Jets lose, Raiders win.

    -or-

    Jets win, Raiders lose.

    -or-

    if both Jets and Raiders win, then Denver must lose (so that Raiders would bump up to division winner and not be included in the tiebreaking procedures).

    If I'm off base, please let me know.

    if nothing else at least we were competitive for 17 weeks. More than a lot of teams can say.
