Their fans are giddy with all the hype their team has received. Then the football gods realized how silly this hype was and took Schaub out for the season, bringing the Texans right back to reality. How's 9-7 sound, Texan fans?

Love the "we're an expansion team" excuse I've been seeing a lot of lately.

Panthers and Jags seemed to handle it ok.

The rules for the expansion draft were dramatically different for the Panthers and Jaguars.... it was MUCH easier for them to assemble a very talented team than it was for the Texans as an expansion team.

I think it had something to do with teams not being allowed to put players on the 'Expansion Draft list' who would be Free Agents the next year?

I'm not sure that constitutes 'dramatically' different, I'm pretty sure the base rule of each team listing 5 players and being able to retract one if they had one taken was the same as the Panthers and Jags in '95, and then the Browns in '99.

 

Naming the team "Texans" was enough to handi-cap it for decades.
