Ok, ok, so let me get this straight. The Titans wouldn't give up a conditional 6th rd. pick for Brandon Lloyd (led the league in receiving last year). If I remember correctly, I heard Michael Lombardi saying on NFL Network yesterday, that even if St. Louis were to lose Lloyd to free agency after this year, that they would receive a compensatory pick. Translation, the Rams traded a pack of gum in order to get Brandon Lloyd. Even if you think 6th rd. picks are gold, you can't possible think they gave too much for him. So now we would "take a look" at T.O. when he's 100% healthy. Translation, we need help at the WR position. Of course, it all depends on the production the team is getting out of the WR's over the next few weeks. I personally don't see that production being very high from the guys we have right now. I'm just not seeing it, I'm still waiting on a couple of these guys to "step up". I can't help but to think that the FO missed the bus during this trading period. The Titans FO scares me sometimes.... a lot of the time.

Lee its exactly what you just said....The FO missed the bus during this trading period. The Titans FO scares me sometimes.

See the thing is i've noticed us in the past be one piece shy of having a really good team and we struggle at that spot while the front office twiddles their collective thumbs.Truth be known i think we should've just brought Derrick Mason in at the WR spot.Bottom line is he is going to run the right routes, not drop any passes and he is good for four or five solid catches a game.Hasselbeck has shown he can win us games as long as there is someone dependable catching passes.Besdes Nate Washington there are a lot of question marks at the receiver spot.Mason would have easily seized that second spot taking the pressure off of Matt trying to find an open receiver who will run the correct routes and catch the ball. With the running game hurting we could definitely use help at WR.

Bottom line is why look at T.O. when we could've just brought in Derrick Mason? it doesn't make much sense.

Mike, I agree. They can never get it all put together. If they would become more proactive (or even a little active) they could even do it in one offseason. I think a bit more aggressiveness from the FO could do great things for this team. And those things could be done fairly quickly believe it or not.

I think the Titans missed the bus this offseason.

My biggest beef with the Titans is the D-line. The only good player we got is JJ, and he's a defensive tackle playing defensive end. Lol. That's stupid, we're using our best player wrong.

I'm a big fan of Derrick Morgan. I loved that pick. Unfortunately he's had injury problems his whole career thus far so we don't really know what we're getting.

Now let's recap some free agents that could've been signed this offseason:

    Charles Johnson
    Ray Edwards
    Jason Babin
    Cullen Jenkins
    Bandon Mebane
    Mathia Kiwanuka
    Aubroya Franklin

We signed Shaun Smith. The guy from Kansas City that was accused of grabbing two different players' nuts in the 09-10 season. AWESOME!

You didn't see Damian Williams go for over 50 yards and catch a touchdown in each of the games since Britt was out?

And you can't not be seeing much in Avery since he hasn't played yet.

Avery/Washington/Williams <----- That's a pretty decent WR set in the NFL.

I'll give you that Mariani and Hawkins suck, but what does it matter. Once Avery's in the lineup, we won't use either of them. We're not the kind of team that goes 4-5 wide. And even if we did, I bet we'd line up Cook in the slot. And Hawkins will do as the 5th reciever, he probably wouldn't get the ball in that circumstance.

Williams has been ok but he hasn't been even close to being as consistent as we need. Not finishing routes, dropping balls, that all has to stop.

We need Avery to step up during this three game homestand coming up.If D-Will continues to play well and Avery starts showing up then the Washington/Williams/Avery crew can get it done on offense catching the ball.

He hasn't had enough playing time. He's basically a rookie thanks to the "We don't play our rookies" Jeff Fisher policy. Doing that stuff on the practice field isn't the same as doing it on the big stage. He'll catch up.

And I just remembered, for everybody who thinks 5th round picks don't amount to anything... Klug was our 5th round pick this year. Had 2 sacks against the Ravens. He'll probably be a starter come next year.

Tom Brady was a 5th round pick. Best QB of our generation. Come on.

Show the 5th round picks some love.
