Explain why the Titans are " massive underdogs" ??? Jacoby Jones isnt better than anyone the Titans have. Kevin Walter? Who else do they have? A 37 year old Mason? Thats not a WR corp better than the Titans. What is so much better about their team? Another thing... Is Kubiak a better HC? Just tell me why they are soooo good.

Houston is a good team? Last I checked they have two wins against two winless teams. And the combined record of the wins is 4-12, all four wins coming from the Steelers.

 

First, for the receiving corps. We have Nate Washington, that's where the list of anyone we can remotely rely on ends. Williams and Cook show some promise, they've been inconsistent to date and have not stepped up after Britt went down. CJ has stone hands and doesn't contribute in the passing offense at all.

Texans have Jacoby Jones and Kevin Walter - who are not great by any means. But I'd argue they're approximately equivalent to Nate Washington. Owen Daniels is much better than Jared Cook and Arian Foster makes a much better target than CJ.

Second of all, what have the Titans done this season to make everyone think they're so great? We beat an awful Cleveland team, barely beat an awful Broncos team and lost to an awful Jaguars team. We beat the Ravens but most people (including myself) would not bet on that same outcome if we had to play them again. That all happened while Hasselbeck was playing lights out football.

We have no running game, our defense is inconsistent, our WRs suck and our coaches are still unproven. I don't see how you can be so high on this team and think we're favorites to win the division. I'm not trying to say we suck, because I don't think we do. All I'm saying is don't expect to go into this game and blow out the Texans. There were a lot of very similar posts expecting us to go to Pittsburgh and embarrass the hurting Steelers.

 

Quit believing the media hype about the Texans. Without Andre Johnson they are completely lost. With him they are better, but not the Packers. Nate Washington is leaps and bounds better than Jacoby Jones( NW worst season is better than anything JJ has ever had and he is only 1 year older) Kevin Walters will get his 1 catch for 20 yards over the middle every game but aside from that he can be covered. Owen Daniels is a problem if they use him. Arian Foster can be as well as a reciever but teams are on to the Texans with that chuck and dump crap they have been getting away with. The Raider laid out the road map to stopping that offense. There should be plenty of tape on it now after 2 games. Executing the stop will be the issue, but the Texans play calling is the same ole same ole and very predictable.

The Texans are a mentally weak team. There is NO WAY the Texans should be the run away favorite to win this division. There just isnt anything to base that on.

The Titans can win this division. I am not arrogant nor ignorant enough to believe they cant lose it they can.

 

What have the Titans done? They have a better record than the Texans with a new QB and brand new rookie coaching staff. The Titans were hurt the most by the lockout. The Texans have been fielding the same team basically for 5 seasons. Wade Phillips D isnt really that much different than the old Texans D its just playing better.

But this great Texans defense is giving up points. They are flakey as well. Their secondary still isnt very good. Joseph is an upgrade, but Manning has been bad and the rest of the secondary is the same as the historically bad one from last season. Now with Mario out the depth takes a HUGE hit and teams will figure out how to expose the front 7.

All in all the Texans are what they are and what they have been under Kubiak. Bad to average. 9-7, 8-8, 6-10.
