Man, the bizarro rationale that you are coming with is really alarming. But, I can tell, you truly believe this stuff that you say... You are not just trying to start trouble or play devil's advocate. You really believe that objectiveness means not blaming one party. When in fact it's only about being fair to both sides.

Many people here have not been fair to CJ in the beginning and many tried to give him a chance. I think most people wanted him on our side. But time is starting to run thin on giving him too much more of a pass. If you watch the games then you have seen the evidence and if you do not see that evidence when watching the games then you are never going to see it.

But I understand that this is what you are believe in and this is what your eyes tell you... which is rather shocking but I've seen boxing judges make two wholly different decisions watching the same fight. I seen people listen to a speech and have totally different takes on it. So, your cause is legit.. albeit odd to me.

I hope I'm wrong... maybe the criticism lights a fire under him.. if there are any embers left.

Lets say after the season the Titans are thinking of letting CJ go or trade him to another team.Does this new team absorb some of the guaranteed money or contract?

I'm wondering what the variables are here if he does end up leaving here early or before the start of next season.

And would it really come to that if he absolutely continued to play at a subpar level?

It's funny because most people on this board wanted to give him the 9 million a year or whatever which is what he got.

I wanted the Titans to trade him and now I'm the one defending him and everyone else has turned on him.

there is/were a bunch of jock sniffers that wanted CJ too get the $14m he was throwing out.

There is/was the group that wanted CJ 'paid'

There is/was the group that wanted CJ to show and be paid - thats me

And I guess there was some noise about trading CJ, but that was not going too happen

At this point CJ will be a Titan for at least 3 years, if I understand the basics of the contract correctly

I was critical of CJ for holding out. I believe in honoring what you sign to the day that contract is up. I have ZERO problem starting negotiations in the last year of a contract. That is what AP did...and that guy is running leagues around CJ with a crappy team, but with purpose now. However, I also wanted the Titans to sign CJ at fair market value because I really do believe he can change the dynamic of this team.

Now, all that crap being said...CJ has been a huge disappointment. Personally I am tired of seeing the "we will get this worked out" tweets and quotes. He has all but admitted he did not come into camp in the shape he required to play ball. After paying him that kind of money we don't have the luxury of him taking a couple games to get up to speed. He made the statement before the reg season started that " he knew the playbook". Really? REALLY? Because from watching him play...I am guessing that means squat.

It's all on CJ now. He is NOT producing and while our OL needs some fixing...the fact is he still hesitates, dances, stutters, whatever the heck you want to call it. He does not hit the holes with conviction like Ringer does. I don't look for Ringer to break a huge run...a HR run. NO team expects their RB to hit a HR run like we seem to expect from CJ. And that is now what I am realizing may be the problem with the guy. Everyone is waiting for the huge run while he is making 1-2 yes per carry and then making excuses after the game why he didn't. We don't run the guy up the middle because he can't run unless he is untouched. We had a 3rd/4th string RB running behind a patched up OL in SqueelerTown gash the HECK out of us for big time yards....yeah....uh huh....nice.

I don't see CJ fighting for the extra yards...I don't see him lowering a shoulder and running with that "I may look small but I will POP your a**" attitude. Someone said there was no video of him dropping before contact? Watch the Squeeler game...he pulled a MarvinHarrison on one run...dropped before the first down line before contact because guys were collapsing on him....really???

Off this bandwagon. Until he proves he is earning the money paid I will be calling them to put in Ringer as soon as he ducks into traffic and drops for another 1-2nd gain. Ringer can get 1-2yds per carry no problem.

    *Rant off*

I often wonder just how different our offense would be with a punishing straight up no bullchit running back like Frank Gore. You can't tell me if Gore or someone similar was here that they couldn't gain at least three or four yards a carry.

I don't care anymore about the home run aspect of CJ taking one to the house.I'd be happy if he gained four or five yards a carry and moved the chains.

Its hurting our team and people are beginning to lose patience with the very subpar numbers he is putting up especially after getting paid enough money for us to sign three or four decent players with otherwise.

We could've used that money on a running back plus a couple of receivers for what he is getting paid.

Sorry if it seems like a rant but i do feel like CJ is holding us back.Especially when someone like Harper could probably get those yards that CJ can't seem to gain.

Again people fail to acknowledge that THE LAST TWO GAMES he has been getting 3-5 yards per carry most of the time at a higher success rate than most RB's in the NFL. We know he was absolute garbage weeks 1-3 and that was more his fault than the o-line's. The line issues still exist, but he was not been crap against the Browns & Steelers. It's obviously not the CJ that we're accustomed to seeing but he has been DECENT the past two games.

Like I said before if we actually stayed in the Steelers game he would have likely broke 100 or at least close to it and everyone would have been saying he's back and not sucking or at least saying hes getting very close to the CJ we remember with back to back 100 yard games. 45 yard in the first half and then only like 3 carries in the second while we passed 40 times being down by 3 TD's. He hasn't hurt our team the last two games like some people are saying. Sure we need him to help and not just be there but some act as if there's another RB on this roster that would be better when that is not even close to being true. I'm all for giving Harper 5-10 carries a game though.
