Oh, so we disregard the 8 bad plays because of one good play.

Yeah, except you can now substitute those 8-10 yard runs with -2 yard runs and no gain's.

So while we are paying CJ massive money we have to rebuild our entire line just to prove that he isn't worth it? He does nothing dynamic. He doesn't make people miss. He doesn't run hard with effort any longer. He tries to avoid contact. He is not a significant part of our passing game. He is no better than any run of the mill starter or backup. Any back on any roster could have his numbers this year.

Didn't you see that the Steelers 3rd and 4th string RBs were harder to tackle for our defense than CJ was for them? That they ran with more effort than he does?

The CJ who ran for over 2000 yards ran with abandon, he hit it up in there with force and got to the 2nd level real fast. This is not the same guy! He wasn't last year either. He is barely average if that.

I agree that the best way to prove that CJ is the problem is to bench him and let the other guys get more carries. CJ should never get more than half of our RB carries and i say bench him altogether in the passing game and let Harper be our 3rd down back.

By the way nothing is guaranteed in CJ's contract from here on out if the Titans release him before the beginning of the league year which is guess is march. So if in any off season they determine that he is not worth what he is making they can release him and not pay a penny more. The $30M guaranteed was misleading.

If they cut him in camp he would get that years salary.

The real money has already been paid. The $10M SB that he already has and his salary this year is $3M.

His salary next season is $8M but take heart it is reduced by $300K if he doesn't get 1000 yards.

The biggest annual compensation he would get is $9M a year.

So aside from the $1.6M a year cap hit the Titans will take the next 5 seasons from that SB the Titans are not in prison with this deal. If he isn't playing up to par they can cut him loose and move on.

I didn't really expect CJ to do amazing, he's never done anything vs the Steelers.

    2011: 14 51 1
    2010: 16 34 0
    2009: 15 57 0
    2008: 16 69 1

Put CJ back there fore kickoffs. At least then he can contribute.

Interesting....it would seem to me, then, that CJ has valid reasons to step it up, which is good regardless of whether he actually does or not. Good job MR...

Assuming this is correct, my vote is to give him this season to step it up, and cut him loose around draft time (trade??) if he does not. Strictly business here.

That said, I still think that he can step it up here, and hope that he does.

That would be stupid, we could atleast trade him if we didn't want him. Some team would be willing to trade us atleast a 3rd for him.
