I don't think Fat Albert is a good counterpoint, since he left because the team wouldn't pay him.

Carter was traded to the Titans in 2001.

Titans paid the lard arse plenety, they made him top 5 DE money 2 years straight. Fact is he had zero interest in signing with Tennessee. His $100m contract that was negotiated within minutes of FA starting shows that too be true

Looks very impressive in the games he plays.

Even though he has been injured, he has looked far more impressive than Brandon Graham and JPP.

His primary interested was to be paid top money. His secondary interest was to play for Tennessee. If Tennessee made the same offer, he'd be here and we'd have 3 years worth of these CJ threads about Fat Albert.

I for one wanted nothing to do with signing Big Al to a long term deal. He did exactly what I predicted he would do....got his money and disappeared.

Titans FO played his deal exactly right IMO. He has shown me multiple times now that he will not perform unless his money is "at risk".
