I don't agree. Yes ypc may have been higher, but we would gain more on the ground, then the D would have to give respect to Ringer and you open up play action. Because CJ has the most potential in the league for big play the D respects him and it opens up our offense. But if we can consistently gain yards on the ground w/o him the opposing D would eventually have to try and stop that.

This is my problem with CJ. I actually watched every game when he became CJ2K, and you can't convince me that Adrian Peterson, Darren McFadden, Maurice Jones Drew, Deangelo Williams, LeSean McCoy, Jamaal Charles, and a few others wouldn't have also ran for 2000 yards that year. The lanes were like the red sea. Not anybody could have rushed for 2K, it would've taken a top 10 running back, but CJ wanted to not only be paid as a top 10 running back, he didn't even want to be paid like the number one running back, he wanted to be paid "top playmaker money.". Last year he finished fourth in total rushing yards. The three players that ran for more yards, Arian Foster, Jamaal Chares, and Michel Turner, will never see CJs contract. He thinks he's worth more than he is, got offended at the notion that he isn't the end all/be all in titans running backs, and obviously hurt my favorite football team with his stupid holdout.

Also the kind of contract he got is usually reserved for leaders of the team. I'd like to hear Larry Fitzgerald or Darelle Revis say "It's only game one" or "Don't listen to these fake fans".

Alll that said, CJ is still a top RB in the league, not superman, not a bum, nothing more, nothing less, and with a real QB (finally) and Britt apparently having a breakout year, if he gets upto speed soon we've got one of the more dangerous offenses in the NFL.

How come is it that every person that defends CJ wants to say there were 8 in the box. What about all the plays were he still couldn't run and there was only 7 man front with 2 deep safety's? My friend kept saying, "They are loading the box" but a lot of the time the safetys were playing a good ways off.

I guess an excuse can be made for anything. I'm a fan of using more than one RB anyways. I wonder why he isn't used more in the pass game like he used to be. Not that it matters, when we have Britt on the field :)

I love to see people compare AD and CJ. AD was scheduled to earn 10x more than CJ. If he held out crying over earning $10M I think his MOM would have smacked him!!!

You can't compare the 2 situations, they are completely different!!!

Sure they can. When you're a hater you don't let stuff like logic get in the way. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go put some water in CJ's mama's dish.

I just re-watched the game and paid particular attention to CJ.

There simply wasn't any room inside. Amano never got a push on Ngata and Ray Ray clogged up everything else. I didn't see more than a few runs inside that gained positive yardage by either CJ or Ringer unless it was a delay. I thought he actually got some yards on plays to the edge when there was little to nothing there. His best carries were to his left though he was often met at, or behind, the LOS.

I didn't see any hesitation by CJ early in this game though he started to look tired in the third quarter. He actually had his best runs later in the game before the two-minute warning which were followed by garbage-time.

The Ravens played to stop CJ and it was a key reason for the success of the passing game and why the Titans ran a lot of play-action. Though I don't think CJ is close to being 100% yet, I think more credit has to be given to the Ravens interior for clogging up those holes and the LBs for meeting him on plays to the edge. I didn't see the dancing we saw last week but also haven't seen the same burst since the 2YK season.

For anyone who re-watches the game, I'd be interested in your thoughts.

    Agree.
They game planned to stop CJ and it opened the pass game up.
    Not many holes.

I think there is a fine line somewhere between dancing in the backfield waitng for a hole that will get you a 40 yard run and pressing what little of a hole there is. I have heard the coaching staff say both: "Stop dancing and hit the hole" (what liitle of one there is)....and "be patient".

Seems like CJ needs to find the fine line between the two.

Good interview with Palmer on The Zone this morning. He basically said CJ isn't in football shape yet but started playing better later in the game.

I think they'll continue to bring CJ along slowly and give Ringer even more work this Sunday.

Ringer looks to be a much better option on passing downs right now. Whether he has better hands than CJ or it's just timing, Ringer is catching the ball in stride and CJ can't manage to do it without totally turning his back to the defense.

Palmer needs to show CJ some film from Forte.
