If I recall, The Patriots lost badly (something like 31-0) in their first game against the Bills a year they won a Super Bowl!

I'm all for putting the best team out there on the field. If Locker can help the team out, he should get some clock. If I was the coach I would give Hasselbeck the start and if he plays bad, or can't move the offense than Locker should get a series. You can't have loyalty to any one particular player. If Locker is the better QB than he should get the opportunity to earn it.

There is NO EXCUSE for how craptastic the Titan's looked on Sunday. It was not a FLUKE, it was BAD Coaching, Bad Playing and BAD PLAYERS.

I have seen the exact same crap for the last two 6-10 years and heard the exact same excuses. I am not going to accept below mediocrity and claim it to be a FLUKE any more.

All i can do is smh at some of these posts jesus... Did anyone forget about the lockout? It showed effects yesterday. Britts 80 yard TD, Steve Smith being WIDE OPEN on blown coverage, alot of flags thrown, alot of dumb mistakes. Its gunna happen. The lockout effects are showing. Playing after short time of prep and gameplanning, we didnt exactly look THAT BAD. Simple playcalling and basic defense will do that to a team... CJ had 9 carries so the gameplan was basic. Cant make a judgement on a game where we didnt even go 70% on playcalling... Jags were vanilla too. Its gunna happen for another 2-3 weeks before teams stop feeling the lockout effects. Now i cant wait to see us really let it fly out there bcuz Britt looks good, CJ will be CJ, and Hasslebeck has looked good despite being here for a short time. I will say one thing, he def is alot better then Collins. Anyone who compares the two needs to lay off drinking. We gunna be fine, we still can win 10 games. Yes we started slow, so did alot of teams. But we have the team once it comes together to beat some tough teams. Chill out and give it time, yall so inpatient.

Locker may wind up being a better QB, but he has zero NFL experience. So that puts Hasselbeck as the better NFL QB by leaps and bounds. Locker has mobility on Hasselbeck and a better arm.

Disclaimer: The next statement is not solely for the person who I have quoted.

STOP THIS 'PUT LOCKER IN' NONSENSE NOW!

No way Locker has the entire offense learned yet. He may very well have it down better than Hasselbeck but putting him out there now could ruin him.

I'm a firm believer in letting your QB sit a season and learn every single wrinkle of a team's offense before letting him make his debut. Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, etc...Look at the improvements we saw in Vince Young after he got a season of watching and learning under his belt, drastic. Even Colt McCoy wasn't rushed in until week 6 and he looks like he'll stick.

Yeah, every now and again you get a P. Manning or Favre who just has it down from day 1 but I don't see how it can hurt to let a rookie learn from the sidelines.

Though locker might be the best option right now, we need to think long term, let him sit and watch AT LEAST until week 12/13.

You stated he started early like Gayton - just sayin' Favre sat a year before starting full time.
