Well College Football has started, and I'm already scouting players for the 2012 draft. There is a few players that i'm really high on so far.

Then I started wondering, what position will the Titans need in the '12 Draft? It's a bit early to break it down, but I'll give it a whirl.

QB - No need. Hass/Locker will be starting in '12, and the other will be the backup. Rusty is also the developmental QB.

RB - No need. CJ will get 90% of the carrier, we also have capable backups in Ringer and Haper.

FB - No need. Hall will be a FA, but we recently traded for Quinn Johnson. Very likely one of them will be our FB in '12.

WR - Need. Britt has potential, but lets be honest.. besides the one Philly game he hasn't lived up to it. With his off the field issues and always hurting hammy, a WR in the early rounds might not be a bad idea. We also have some younger WRs with potential like Williams, Mariani, Hawkins but they still have a lot to prove. Washington also is a decent #2/#3. If Britt stays out of trouble and healthy, and one of the young guys step up a WR won't be needed.

TE - Likely not needed. Everyone has high hopes for Cook to explode. We also have two decent backups in Graham and Stevens. Unless Cook/Stevens completely blow a TE won't be needed next year.

OL - Possibly needed. Scott will be a FA. But, Harris and Amano struggled last year. Stewart, Roos, and Scott were average but yet still good starters. The line has looked better so far, but if Harris or Amano struggles again this year it wouldn't surprise me to go OL next year.

DL - Needed. We're lacking some depth here. Morgan and Jones (our starting DEs) always seem to be hurt. Backing them up, we have Dave Ball who's OK, but also 30 and will be a FA and William Hayes who has 6.5 career sacks. Hayes could step up though. At DT, we have some young depth. Shaun Smith was an underated pickup and is a monster in the middle. Klug, Sheppard, Clayton, and Casey provide 4 young DTs and it's likely they'll impress. I have big hopes for Klug and Casey, but I think Klug should be switched to DE. Sen'Derrick Marks also has one more shot to impress. My bet is we'll take a DL in the first 3 rounds, another DT or DE would be helpful, but my bet is we go DE. Hayes and Jones are also FAs.

LB - Not needed. Ayers is our future at OLB. Ruud signed a one year deal, and if he's not brought back McCarthy can take over. Witherspoon and McRath also provide some depth. We have 5 potential starting LBs fighting for 3 spots. Unlikely we'll need a LB before Round 4.

CB - Probably not needed. Finnegan will be a FA, but he'll probably get resigned. He wasn't his normal self last year, so we'll see what he does this year. Verner and McCourty are two capable CBs, and both should step up this year. Then two young guns in Hawkins and Campbell made the roster. I have huge hopes for Campbell, how many times do you have a 6'2 205 CB that runs a 4.3? Hopefully he can develop.

S - Our biggest need. Griffin and Hope will be FAs. Babineaux is a capable starter, but he's 29. Griffin will probably be resigned. But that leaves a hole at SS. I'm hoping we take a 1st or 2nd round safety.

So that leaves our biggest need at S, DL, WR.

    My Top 5 Safties:
    Mark Barron (Sr, 6'2 218, 4.56)
    T.J. McDonald (Jr, 6'2 205, 4.54)
    Robert Lester (Jr, 6'2 210, 4.56)
    Ray Ray Armstong (Jr, 6'4 216, 4.54)
    Markelle Martin (Sr, 6'1 200, 4.47)

    My Top 5 DLs:
    Quinton Coples DE (Sr, 6'6 285, 4.76)
    Jared Crick DE (Sr, 6'5 285, 4.82)
    Brandon Thompson DT (Sr, 6'2 310, 5.04)
    Jerel Worthy DT (Jr, 6'3 310, 5.04)
    Devin Taylor DE (Jr, 6'7 260, 4.76)

    My Top 5 WRs:
    Justin Blackmon (Jr, 6'1 215, 4.54)
    Alshon Jeffery (Jr, 6'4 229, 4.56)
    Ryan Broyles (Sr, 5'10 188, 4.49)
    Jeff Fuller (Sr, 6'3 220, 4.52)
    Michael Floyd (Sr, 6'3 224, 4.54)

Out of that list I'm super high on Justin Blackmon, Alshon Jeffery, RayRay Armstrong, and Jared Crick. Just imagine an offense with Britt+Blackmon/Jeffery+Locker+CJ+Cook. That could be deadly.

Still a ton of football left to be played, players could step-up/step-down and this list could change. Can't wait for the '12 Draft.

WTF? The 2011 season kicks off in about 6 hours and you're already thinking ahead to April? Whoa! If I knew we were defiantly going to suck, then I'd play along, but we're going to be picking between 20-32 in 2012.

The only problem I see with that mock is that it wont be a CB we draft to play with Cortland, but one to replace him. If we go CB with our pick, then my guess is that Cortland is gone.

I disagree. He has surpassed all my expectations (on the field) not including that game.

Britt has shown how talented he is in many games. I don't think WR is a need but I would like to give Locker some weapons so maybe in the 2nd/3rd depending on who is available.

We have to go S this year and even though Barron is the best imo he scares me with his injury history. I'm a big fan of Armstrong and not totally sold on Lester being a 1st round talent.

    In need I'd go...
    1. S
    2. DE/DT (depends on how the positions do)
    3. OG
    4. OLB
    5. CB

My reasoning for putting CB above WR is simple, it's defense. We don't know if Finnegan is going to bounce back and waiting to see if McCourty or Verner can be a good CB for us over the next few years. With WR you can either sign someone or someone else moves up the depth chart. It's not worth using a pick early unless the guy is a star.
