We are going to have a QB Controversy. Matt Hasselbeck is mediocre at best

If the Titans are 2-6 with Hasselbeck, then it probably means there are a lot of factors beyond QB play which has led to that record. I don't believe in putting your future QB into a bad situation. Many will disagree but I'm among those who think not giving a young QB the tools to succeed with their early starts can do more long-term damage to their development than help.

People forget how MH made Mike Williams into a decent WR.

Kenny Britt and CJ are better then any other weapon he had in Seattle. And MH is the best QB in TN since Mcnair.

    I fully agree...

I don't want to turn this into a VY thread, nor do I want to compare Locker to VY, BUT, I still think that putting VY on the field too soon, while not fully the cause, was at least part of the reason that he failed here.

Whatever happens (good or bad), let the young kid sit for a year (maybe even two). If we're really looking at this long term wise then I want him to be ready to give his best shot once he takes over not some half assed trash or getting thrown in the gauntlet where he gotta fight his way out.

I don't think Hasselbeck or Locker either one would make much of a difference this season. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think we have a real chance this season without CJ.

I think a rookie QB can learn a lot, and a lot quicker if they are just thrown in the game. Peyton Manning was thrown in, he didn't sit behind a Vet for years. Dan Marino didn't sit behind a Veteran either. Why not let a backup Veteran QB mentor while a rookie starts? I like that idea better. It's not like Hasselbeck is going to be another Tom Brady or Peyton just because he's on our team now.

Personally, I think it's jumping the gun to think we won't have CJ this season until at least September 4th. If he isn't signed then, I'll start worrying.

Throw Cook onto that list too, not to mention the Titan offensive line. Actually the Titans have better skill players surrounding MH than the Hawks had in 2005 during their SB run. CJ > Shaun Alexander/ + Cook > Jeremy Stevens/ + Britt > Darrell Jackson. (Although the O-line that year was top notch.)
