I honestly think he is playing a game of "stare" with the FO. If the Titans were a legitimate contender for the the SB then I think there might be some additional pressure on the Titans to make this happen and spend more than they might want to.

Fact is...the team IS manageable without him. We are not one CJ away from something special or big. Maybe CJ doesn't like that, but unlike the Pats or Jets or some other team that has been sniffing the trophy lately...CJ being on the team does not suddenly make us contenders. What it does is make us dangerous...maybe unpredictable...which may lead to a few more wins than without him, but not some lock for the Division or playoffs...just a team that could sneak up and be much better than we look.

So..CJ can be part of that...or poison it with a long holdout over money that will have ZERO bearing on his future security. If I was Bud I would simply tell him that he can be the highest paid RB in the history of the NFL....well deserved...and be set for life money-wise...or he can sit in Orlando for a year or two...be fined out the wazoo and continue to lose value until we franchise you in year three from now and see what value you have then. Bud has more money than CJ will ever see and can afford to be hardcore on this if he wants.

I guess we see who blinks first.

Did CJ play in the All Star game last year? Remind me of his yards if he did.. no other oline would bring him the success he's had.. and for that reason, I do not care what happens and have not followed this drama tweet by tweet.. he'll learn his place sooner or later.

Uh... Why don't we as fans give CJ the benefit of the doubt until Week 1 and if he's not there we'll decide who we're gonna attack on a message board. Titans Brass or CJ.

Each side has an argument: FO should have paid the man or CJ shouldn't be asking for so much. Just depends on what side you want to take.

I'm not giving him the benefit, because I don't think he is willing to swallow his pride and come down on the asking price that the Titans think is too much.

He's not. Not now. He will before he sits out regular season games though. He'll have no choice but to accept the Titans offer before the Jags game. He can't miss games and pile up stats. He wants to be the greatest ever. He can't help his greatest ever cause by watching the games on TV like us.

I'm not so sure of this. And if he does accept our final offer or we 'meet in the middle' with him I hope he isn't a sour pu$$ and be that disgruntled player in the locker room that brings the whole team down and has a grudge.

Titans need to be firm too and let him know they aren't going to be backed into a corner where he demands a trade or threatens to sit out.Write the man a contract for highest paid running back.Let him know we aren't going to give into silly demands like a trade and if he doesn't like the contract he can sit out all this season and then sit out again next season and the team will sit on his rights and by the time its all over a couple years will have passed and he won't have anything to show for it.The team needs to realize we have the upper hand and we aren't going to bend or break but will be fair in that we will make him highest paid running back in history. If he doesn't like that let him sit and see how long he likes going without getting paid.CJ has a choice get paid by the Titans or don't get paid.....

well CJ needed to have played today to be ready for week 1.

Titans are planning week 1 without CJ in mind. It's to late for Palmer to install him on offense. Week 1 is a scratch for CJ. Looks like Titans are calling his bluff and will see how many games he is willing to miss.

Having a great running back doesn't mean championships, but it does help sell tickets! You gotta' show the cash to keep the flash!
