The oline looks pretty good so far. Could ringer and harper not put up 1400 yards and 11 tds combined this season? I think they could. Or we can overpay cj to do it alone.

I'm sure they could, but CJ could do a lot better than that while sharing a few carries with them.

The Browns just gave Joe Thomas an extension, 7 years for $84 million with $44 million guaranteed. Meanwhile, back in Nashville ...

I think it's more about the defenses having to account for CJ when he's in the game.

I like the suggestion someone had of offering him top RB money, then telling his agent he can either sign and play, or we're moving on without him.

    I think you're wrong. :wink2:

I think they "will" rush for those yardage and TD totals.

I think CJ is about to cost himself a lot of money.

It was me, and there's no doubt in my mind that he would accept such an offer before week 1 of the regular season.

Lots of good opinions. It's a business so both sides want all they can get from the other. He absolutely deserves more money. However, the life span of a RB is too short for "playmaker" money......which is the most ridiculous sounding, egotistical term by the way. LOL!
As far as the negotiations......I find it hard to blame everything on a team considering how agents act as well. We have no idea what has actually been said between the parties.
As far as the Titans "not actually making him an offer" and they are "too far apart on the deal"......I gave someone the same analogy during a recent "political event" that we all heard about when we kept hearing "there was never a plan (offer) in writing":

I have to sign a new contract every year in my job. If I am having discussions with my boss and tell him I want a 25% raise for the year and he says there is no way it is going to happen....but I should go ahead and "put it in writing" although he has assured me there is no chance he will ever sign it......if you are that far apart, what is the point in putting it in writing? Just a waist of time.
They have told him they would make him the highest paid RB in the NFL. I think, and I believe he thinks, there will be more than just that. But he needs to at least show up to discuss it.

He deserves highest paid RB $$$ and then a little more IMO......but NOT Fitzgerald $$$$. That would be crazy.

Here we go with "he should show up and discuss it" argument. Why? Do you honestly think CJ is dumb enough to discuss his contract with the Titans? That's what his agent is for. lol @ the thought of CJ and the front office negotiating directly! Not gonna happen. This deal would be done with his agent, and 99% of it would be done over the phone regardless of where CJ is.
