CJ is by far my favorite Titan player. However, at this stage if we can get a lucrative offer we HAVE to consider. CJ is a speed back. We all know the shelf life of a running back is not very long and honestly we are not going to be a Super Bowl team THIS year, and likely not next. Were building for the future. If we can trade CJ and pick up multiple assets, why not. Don't get me wrong, CJ is an extremely talented running back...but if we had a back like McCoy and could receive picks + other players from Philly for McFadden+picks and players, why wouldn't you consider that?

Not to mention, look at the last few Super Bowl winners.

    Greenbay had James Starks..
New Orleans had a RB by committee
    Pittsburgh had M. Moore

Let's all look at a tiny sample size of circumstantial data and draw conclusions about causation.

Green Bay had Aaron Rodgers excellent receivers and a stingy defense as well.
New Orleans had Drew Brees, excellent receivers, and led the NFL in TO's forced.
Pittsburgh had Big Ben and the best defense in the NFL.

Running backs can't possibly matter when it comes to winning Super Bowls, right? I guess that's why the Steelers and Saints have both spent a first round pick on a RB in the past few years.

It's really dumb to suggest that having a good RB somehow makes your team less likely to win a Super Bowl.

Right, but you have to consider the fact that some really dumb people and some trolls post here.

Exactly. Trade CJ and build up the defense and let Locker grow.

Say we trade CJ for a above average RB plus a 1st, a 2nd and another defensive starter (which IMO we can definitely get)...

We can build up the defense and add another WR weapon in the draft. I like our chances next year and in the future with Cook, Britt, Williams, 1st round WR, Locker on offense, along with that running back we acquire via the trade.

Not to mention our defense. Go DL, CB, S with the other 3 picks in the first two rounds and start to rebuild that defense. A defensive core of those three rookies, with Casey, Jones, Morgan, Ayers, Verner, Griff, McCarthy is pretty decent I'd say.

That is not what I'm suggesting AT ALL. What I'm saying is this team has many holes. We can fill all those holes and pick up a replacement RB in trading CJ. Give me McCoy or McFadden + a few picks and a defensive starter any day over CJ.
