Cotchery

Hawkins and Mariani can be good, but they dont have what it takes to lead the WR group.

Britt is physically a beats at WR, Mason is very smart. those 2 can be the leaders we need at WR. Mariani and Hawkins would make good supporting cast. and it's asking a lot of D Will to be the main guy right now. although he might be able to handle it.

 

I like Cotchery because he could actually sign a multi year deal and this gives Locker a weapon for the future. Mason is just a quick fix and that's if he does actually have anything left in the tank.

Cotchery wa thrown to 41 times
Washinton was thrown to 61 times

Cotchery caught every single pass that was thrown his way last year? That's impressive.

 

Bring Cotchery in! I like signing him more than I like the idea of signing an old Derrick Mason. He is a solid WR, and his production only dipped because of the bringing-in of Mark Sanchez and the signings of Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards. His numbers decrease weren't all his fault. He would be a reliable option for Hasselbeck and Locker, especially if Britt misses extended time.

 

I'm fond of Mason going back to the great Mcnair era of this franchise.However i do think he probably has one good year left so why not bring in Cotchery to give Matt and Jake a long term target at WR.

Why are some down on Cotchery? He was promising coming out of the draft, did very well when Favre was the QB, and has been a consistent WR since.
