The $30,000 fine doesn't start until the CBA has been ratified and league year begins...

The only problem with your scenario is right after Faulk left they drafted Edge James who ran for over 1500 yards and caught 62 passes his rookie year. Indy didn't lose anything in the productivity department.

Even in that scenario the Colts only got a 2nd and 5th round pick for Faulk and ended up using a 1st round pick on James. There are some similarities in the Colts situation since the Rams ended up paying Faulk a 7 yr 45 mil deal which was the biggest at the time in NFL history. So basically if it comes down to having to pay CJ a record breaking deal I say yea, trade him, get what we can and try and find a RB to replace him assuming he isn't already on the roster. It really was a deal that worked for both teams. Indy drafted a HOF level RB but didn't have to pay out the huge salary and the Rams got a game changer that helped them win a SB.

So what qualifies you to determine what caused C.J. to slow down a bit as the season wore on last year. As I recall, C.J. was showing incredible speed in week 1 last year, so what happened? Did he just suddenly lose a step overnight mid-season? You are the one I was arguing with before on this issue I believe. Weren't you claiming he had no injury? He just woke up one day and had lost a step? You'll see C.J. running like he used to this year, and I'll be sure and point it out to you when he does.

I dont know that CJ lost a step at all, but I do think that when fisher and dinger ran him up the middle or between the tackles most of the time, that any back under 200lbs will not be as effective.

I want us to give CJ his money and for the new staff to use him like westbrook, faulk, and charles. Get him in the passing game and get him the ball in space where you can use that speed! Not power run eddie run up the gut football! BTW, had that guy last year in Blount, and cut him to keep some pets!

    Overnight?

    You mean... over the offseason?

CJ didnt look like the guy he was in 2009 all last year.

And we know if he were hurt he'd sit out. (see: Playoff game vs Ravens where he stood around with an "injury" aka being scared)

    Here are your options:

    1. He lost a step.
    2. He mailed the season in due to wanting more money.
