CJ....C'mon. That's just politically correct talk. Jeff wants to get back into the game next year and protect his legacy. It's never been his style to bash anyone in an interview. If you think that was a vote of confidence, take off the blinders.......It's what is said off the record to other coaches and GM's that matters.

While I'm not one to deny Vince is a good QB and has a lot of talent, I completely agree with you. Jeff didn't want to draft Vince, never wanted him to play, and flat out doesn't like the guy in any way shape or form. He's made that abundantly clear for a while now, and he's been saying stuff like this the whole time. That's what I mean by Fisherdom. His stubbornness when it came to Vince Young may well have hurt the team more than anything Vince actually did imo to be honest.

You're way off base. A lot of Jeff Fisher criticism seems to center on the fact that VY may have not been his first choice when it came to drafting a QB, and so he kept up some 5 year grudge against VY. Balderdash (please insert a better expletive). The decision to draft VY was squarely in the owner's hands. If Fisher was really that pissed off about it, he would have resigned in protest back then.

As for how the next five years played out, if VY had worked his butt off day in and out to be a real student of the game, and a leader of men on and off the field, he'd still be our QB and probably that would ring true even if he had a worse record. In my book, the first warning sign to us fans was the 60 Minutes interview. In that segment, we saw the brash and overconfident VY...a guy who hadn't played a down a football in the NFL acting as if he were the next Hall of Fame guy. Then we started hearing about work ethic issues, off the field troubles and lack of leadership. Remember that Fisher played and worked for Mike Ditka. Any real student of the game knows what's expected of a player working for a coach with that background.

Most of us have jobs where our management demands high standards from us regardless if we are friendly with them or not. Respect is earned and it's earned every day, not just "on game day". If you don't earn it every day in practice and in meetings, why should you expect it on game day? I understand that few of us are perfect people and we are going to have problems in our lives that might affect how we do our jobs. But on the whole, we are judged not only by our "winning record" but how we worked every day to get there. VY fans like to talk about the W-L record but if that were everything, he'd still be the guy.

Maybe getting fired will be the best thing that happens to him long term. I do wish him well, but he's going to have to learn that life and the NFL is more complicated and involved than just performing on game day.

Wow. Fisher really is full of sh*t. If he truly felt that way, he would've started Vince in '09 after we started off 0-3. Instead, he had to be told by a senile old man to put Vince in after we were 0-6 and Kerry had just thrown for negative yardage in a 59-0 loss.

He has never liked Vince... even though VY saved his job not once, but twice.

if 'the Diva' was professional about his job, like most NFL QBs are, then there would never have been issues. Fish face and most Titans fans expect the players to pratice and play hard.

Sidebar - I really couldn't care less about what player makes what ammount of money or how many years their careers are. They do not care about me either. But any player that dogs it in pratice or on sunday I got zero respect for. 'the Diva' clearly dogged it in pratice - and heading into pissburgH game too put the cherry on top of it. I'm done with him and have been since that game. Nothing he does will ever change my mind.

I kind of see both arguments though. I know Vince wasn't the best with game preparation, and I know Fisher was ultimately too stubborn to ever get along with Vince really. My problem is with people claiming Vince "sucks" or isn't "good" because it's completely ridiculous. He's a damn good QB, but due to his own issues, and a coach who was always against him,, has never reached his potential. he may never reach his potential, but I think he's about to get the best chance he's had thus far. We'll see.

Amazing how the blind hatred of VY caused a lot of Titans fans to not really notice the fact that a team that was literally winless with Collins(0-6) in 09 (Fisher's choice) went 8-2 with Vince Young. I guess that was just a coincidence though.

I think we all saw the 59-0 0-6 kfc debacle. We also saw the schedule get a lot softer and a season gone by mid september. So 'the Diva' played well once the season was lost. There was no almost POs that season.

Clearly fish face had a hand in it, but hes the coach he has a say in everything. Clearly fish face would rather lose with his spooning buddy kfc than have an unprofessional crybaby be the QB of his team. I'm not saying fish face was 100% right, but he was pretty real righter than 'the Diva'
