Oh and to refute the defense statement...

Jason Jones is likely moving to DE. He's got the speed and def the moves to get penetration so I'm assuming he'll be a solid DE for us. Maybe even dominant if he can get his technique down. That means we'll have Morgan and Jones coming off the ends. That's a pretty solid duo.

On the inside we've added Casey (unproven but high upside) and we still have a healthy Brown. We can add a veteran run stopper once the CBA is worked out, but even without one we've got adequate depth inside. We just need gap fillers so we should be fine.

We've finally got some depth at CB. We've got Verner and Finnegan which is a pretty good duo. Not great, but they could improve with better scheming. Griffin is solid with at least glimpses of being a very good safety. Part of his lack of production could be due to his compliment in Hope. Hope will probably be a backup this year and a lot of our success hangs on his replacement. We've got some youth behind him but they are all unproven.

At linebacker I'm not worried. We've got a cleanup machine in Tully and we've got a pretty decent core regardless of how some games looked last year. By changing our coverage schemes we could improve our linebacker play. Our backers were exposed in coverage mostly, not so much against the run. We got ran on a lot last year because of the way our line attacked the ball. We had small guys on the interior and ends pass rushing on the outside. It left a lot of holes for the RB to find.

I think our defense is better than what most people think. I don't think I'm being unrealistic at all.

I'll say seven and that's with or without CJ. I just don't see out oline making that big of a leap this year with all the uncertainties and missed time so I think a hardnose straight ahead runner will see more gains than somebody dancing to find the nonexistent hole.

If our line doesn't show up I'd give us 7 as well. That's a factor I didn't consider. I'm thinking that the position shifts will clear up a lot of our problems though. And wasn't Velasco decent when he was at center or am I mistaken?

6-10 with Jake Locker starting by the sixth game of the season.i think the defense will be better than expected but the offense will have trouble scoring.

No QB. No Britt. New Coaches. It's not going to be pretty. I'm just being a realist. Had we have had mini camps and practices, we'd be better. Unfortunately, I don't see this year being such a good one. I'm still cheering for them, though (of course).

I'm thinking we win 9-10 games, and hopefully sneak into the playoffs. I think our offense will be alright as long as our defense is. I'm actually going to be counting on a defense that is sure of themselves this time around, and will know when to tighten up and get the ball back. We still have a defensive backfield with some Pro Bowlers in it. Special teams should be solid, so I'm expecting the defense to rise to occasion to keep us in a decent position most the year. If the field position is manageable we'll be alright. I know we'll find ways to win in the regular season, it's the post season I'm concerned about. The game changes in January. If the team makes 2011 about the good and not the bad, we'll see success.

I don't see us losing to Cleveland and Denver. It was a fluke (and mainly Chris Hope) that we lost to Denver last year. That puts us at 5-11 and I think we at least win one of the 4 between Jax and Houston.
