Jared Cook counted on to win games now.

Well...

Considering Scott, Amano, and Harris all were not good, it's not a shock CJ was fighting many times just to get back to the los and our offense became very inconsistent.

Only 2 options - they play better or we get some new starters. The likihood is that they play around the same and we are relying on playcalling to improve our offense with a rookie QB and our best WR could be off the team or in jail soon.

I'm not thrilled with this mess of an offense at the moment. Our OL HAS to be better because we NEED a strong running game to keep Jake out of a lot of 3rd and longs.

Otherwise, our D better play like it did in '99 or we could be in for a very long season!!!

Who was our best offensive player the last 2 seasons...VY or CJ? Who should the offense run through?

If all you've ever seen Cook do is get open and catch passes, you've clearly never seen him on running plays nor bothered to rewind the video to find out where that DE or OLB came who munched CJ in the backfield.

You get to become a Gates by being a decent enough blocker to become a starting player and develop your pass catching and athleticism to ridiculous highs! Notice the Chargers have had either Drew Brees or Phillip Rivers at QB. Have we? And Gates was a solid blocker when they had LT to run the ball. Cook is NOT a decent blocker which is WHY he should have only played in small spurts - which is what they did!

If Cook was our number 2 WR with Scaife being our #1, how would we run the ball with 3 interior under-performing OL and 2 below avg run blockers...???

Interesting. Our OL helped CJ get 2006 yards 2 years ago...but it's not them (even though putting up game film disproves this). Then you say it's the coaching and playcalling? Were'nt they (coaching and playcalling) here and helped CJ get to 2000 yards???

When a team has 18 games worth of game tape on you you have to change something up.

Everyone in our division has many multiples of 18 games of game film against us! And we still could beat the Colts without changing much.

You either give everyone equal credit for the good and the bad or you don't. You can't cherry pick stuff to make the players look good but blame the coaches for all the bad stuff.

now Gut I'm sure the coaches have the OL jumping offsides a couple of times a game and the DL, well we know Washburn made anyone who actually stayed home run laps.

I don't call that cherry picking. And FYI, we haven't beaten a really good team in over 2 years.

 

What does this have to do with giving coaches and players equal share for failing or succeeding short of some miraculous individual effort?

Have you noticed we've had a bad defense and poor dcoordination the last 2 years? Did you notice we've had either inconsistent ol or qb play too much the last 2 years?

We KNOW we will be inconsistent a qb fora while so it is imperative to get our blocking to a high level so we can give Locker less of a burden and give him the greatest chance to succeed.

If want to beat the really good teams, you need potent offense or a poten d. We haven had either.

I Don't know why People don't want explosive players take the field like Hawkings and Cook.

You guys rather have slow and SAFE!!!! guys like Mariani and Stevens who are both good players but don't have the potential to become something special.
