Also known as "The dbc rule" which was enforced after Fisher left.

there also could be a chance they would throw Rusty Smith in before Locker if they think he is not ready.

I'd like McNabb. Collins got his chance to redeem himself and actually held up for a full season. McNabb could get us some wins with the weapons we have. If Locker improves enough early on he could step in mid-season to take over.

McNabb is to high profile, TN doesnt want a QB thats gonna cause a buzz. Titans want a Vet to make it seem like they dont want to force Locker to start, but really they want a vet that can get maybe 4-5 wins but suck just enough that Locker can beat him out for the starting roll mid season. I dont see us getting anyone that has started in the few years. gonna have to be a real backup vet.

Not to mention they won't want to spend contender money this year... I'd look for them to shop by price, which probably means pulling the trigger on Collins, or waiting til agents get desperate... That's just my guess though.

Keep in mind they're going to be paying Locker 8-10 million. I don't look for them to pay a guy like Hasselbeck another 8-10 million, which is what he wants. I don't know how much Bulger is looking for, but after that it's bargain basement time.

Yeah it is a chunk of change but it will be money well spent for Locker to sit, watch, and learn from an NFL veteran. We are going to have plenty of cash this offseason so to give Matt a 2 year deal is not going to break our bank for when were going to need to add pieces to the team when Locker is our starter and the defense is up to par on the scheme change.

Just play Locker. He will have his rookie mistakes but KC, Hass, Sage and all the other names will have mistakes too. Bring back KC to be a veteran presence and mentor but there is no way he is going to beat out Locker for the starting job. Lets face it, he was horrable last year. But he still knows the Titans better than any other QB and will be good to bring in for Locker.

-Seahawks are not going to get rid of Hass.
-Mcnabb is not gonna want this job and is going to ask for too much.
-Bulger and Kolb will want too much and other teams want them more.
-Sage was not good when he did get some playing time, what makes you think he is going to be any better?

If you throw Locker into the fire, he may learn on the spot. But, he won't be able to focus on other things, like his accuracy. Give him time to learn the playbook, study film, learn NFL defenses. Then, once all that is second nature, let him focus on throwing accurate passes in real game situations.

in my opinion i think it would be a big mistake to throw him in too soon.let him sit, learn the playbook, watch the veteran, etc. in his first season.maybe if we aren't in contention next season let him play the last couple games to get him used to it but not in a pressure filled situation.
