The lack of playing time for the 4,5 and 6 receivers was more on Heimerdinger than Fisher. He openly admitted he did not like rotating receivers, he even apologized to Damien Williams about not playing him more. His offence involved receivers making pre snap reads; he valued recievers who he could count on to be in the right place every time over one who had more athletic upside, thus his love for Gage and JMac when he was here. Also why he was reluctant to move Britt to one of the other receiver positions in order to get Moss on the field, he was worried about Britt not knowing the other position well enough and endlng up not being in the right place.

Welcome to the Board, that is a viciously good first post.
It was very upsetting to see Damien Williams getting benched for Gage last year. He definetly deserved an apology.

I still would like to us to sign a WR in free agency.

Man seriously, what is it with the hate on Nate? The guy had 1 bad season. And during that bad season, wasn't he our TD reception leader? Then last year he was our best WR behind Britt. He has good hands, YES GOOD HANDS, and is a deep threat with his speed. If you think he should be gone or even passed by DWill who is solid at best, you have a problem.

DWill had a decent season. But people are making it as if he is now a weapon. Im sure there are teams who have no idea who he is. As far as im concerned, he's just as good as Hawkins. He just was given more opportunities. Speaking of those opportunities, when Hawk was given them, he showed up. And weren't players and coaches raving about Hawk last offseason? He was working hard and making plays. Hawk EARNED PT last season, DWill did not. He did nothing on KR/PR. And if anything was just a decent ST. Hawkins has worked on his ST play, remember he caused the fumble during the Eagles game?

So Hawk worked hard all camp and then is passed by a rookie who didn't even out play him. That's just poor ethics imo. I don't know if Hawk will be a good WR for us, but he has definitely earned the chance to prove himself.

I agree about Nate. He's a decent #2 WR but I don't see us resigning him with guys like DWill/Mariani/Hawk behind him (and potentially pushing him).

Why don't you see us resigning him? He has top notch speed. Marc has shown nothing at wr, DWill isn't a downfield threat.

How do you know he isn't a downfield threat?

Britt wasn't supposed to be a down field threat either.

You don't need 4.3-4.4 speed to be a down field threat. I could name WR's all day with 4.5 and slower who get down field and make plays. It's about getting off press and creating seperation not straight line speed.

Marc has shown great promise at WR. The guy was catching from CHRIS SIMMS and still making some plays.

Wether he can or cannot be a threat isn't the problem. As of NOW, nate is a downfield THREAT. Defenses have to prepare for him and his speed. DWill not so much. Until he makes enough plays to be looked at as a thread by other teams, i don't see the big hooblah over the guy. I like him, but really, he is overrated by many fans.

When was this? He hasn't had a single catch. He is a GREAT returner, but has shown nothing as a receiver. Yet alot of you feel him and DWill are the future. He has NO receiving yards. At all.
