I think it is going to be Billy Volek too. It makes sense. Veteran Qb who should know why he is being brought in with former ties to the team. Should not be drama when it is time for Locker to start. That way be sooner rather than later based on Voleks injury history.

Vince threw for over 60% and around it every year in the league and I never once thought wow what an accurate QB. Couldn't lead a receiver for the life of him.

Locker will be just fine. Did you expect incredible completion percentages in a low percentage offense, with no tight end, and marginal talent on the outside and o-line? He was running for his life, injured, and forced to carry a below average team on his back which he did while hurt to a bowl game.

He is imo the best QB in this draft and he has a little Favre to his game and I love that. I will cringe every time he tries to crush a LB with his shoulder but the kid is tough, competitive, and a leader. He's a little raw but from a talent and work ethic stand point I couldn't have asked for more.

Ever here the quote Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard

I always liked Billy Volek.i'll never forget him having back to back 400 yard games throwing here in Tennessee. He is one of only five QB's to ever do that.Didn't like it when he was traded away and then Collins arrived. If not for him leaving i think he could've held the job down long enough for Vince to learn under him.Who knows what might've been if he would've stayed.I would love to have him back.

I just can't get behind a directive intended on helping the future, while relying on the past...a disastrous past.

I'd bet that had we kept Volek we probably wouldn't have been in a position to draft Vince in the first place

There is really only one answer here, and that is Kerry Collins...assuming he doesn't retire of course. Look they have said that the offense isn't changing much and KC knows it like the back of his hand; plus there will probably be no OTA's and a much shorter training camp this offseason. Its not realistic to bring in an out of house veteran free agent to learn the offense in what could be like a 3 week training camp. Also guys like Bulger and Hasselback are not going to sign just to mentor for a year then ride the pine, both will want to be assured they start for however long their contract is for. KC knows his career is pretty much done this should be a good scenario for an older player such as him.

Hasselback would be my 2nd choice he's played in some big games including a Superbowl.

The Titans had both McNair and Volek on the roster when Vince was drafted. Billy and McNair were both traded before preseason was over.

Volek was traded cause he didnt like the way he was being done, he wanted to start and i think he asked to be traded.

Bringing in a QB new to the system that is used to being starter and still thinks of themself as a starting QB isn't the dynamic I would want in the QB meeting room.

Also, you don't want to pay decent money for a QB you plan on replacing at some point during the season.

The best option imo has to be a journeyman QB that knows and accepts his role as mentor, thats smart enough to learn without taking many reps. (Locker should be getting the lions share of the limited 1st/2nd team practice reps)

Jake Delhomme, Todd Collins, Marc Brunell

you need someone that can actually be better than Locker if need to be.

I think Locker could outplay Jake Delhomme, Todd Collins and Marc Brunell rom day 1. Volek isnt going to get a franchise starting job out of the blue, he needs to come to a team like ours and show the league he still can be a starter. Come here play a season make him self look good then get the freak out so Locker can play. it's a win win for both parties.
