Collins might not be a good fit if the offense is moving more toward doing more roll outs and moving the pocket. I also expect them to focus more on the quicker short higher % passes with 3 or 5 step drops. Thing is Rusty doesn't fit that kind of offense either.

2 names.. Josh McCown played for Palmer last year in the UFL, has some NFL experience..
Joe Webb will be traded or released by Minny.. but he has no experience but might make a nice back-up to Locker..

I might be reading a bit much into this but when Rusty got his playbook, he mentioned that there were some things different and some things the same. That leads me to believe that we'll not see huge changes in the offense this season.

With the strike stretching on, I'm beginning to feel we won't have a training camp which starts on time. If that's the case, I think we'll see Collins back if he's healthy.

I've thought about McCown as well. He would be cheap and knows how Palmer likes to teach his offense. Would have no problem stepping aside for Locker when he is ready.

While he may know palmer we need a mentor to locker and mccown will not do that. Hasslebeck is a veteran who would do well as a mentor and stop gap and probably has a chance to come here I think he knows his career has 2-3 years left and would be willing to come to a team with some talent like ours and collect his last paycheck while helping Jake.

Bruce is my darkhorse. Mobile and competitive he has some injury concerns but has done a decent job considering tha talent and lack of stability in almost every organization he has been in. Cable mentioned how the team loved playing for Bruce.

People can bash me for always being pissed off but if some of you guys would do 2 seconds of work before saying some of these things it would help.

I'll be damned if some loser 3rd string caliber guy like Mccown or Gradkowski is going to be my starting QB for a year. WTF is that? Both have more ints than Tds and neither has ever been even a decent starter in this league. Why would they even be considered as mentor-temporary starters on this team? They are crap! They are not as good as Collins or Hasselback. Get a clue.

A 65 passing rating is crap!

How is a 65 passing rating decent? How is averaging 2.5 Tds and 2.9 ints per season decent? But you want that to be your starting QB for the year?

You are talking about a guy who has been around 8 years, never started for any time and basically has only played a season of football and played badly. Where do you get this stuff?

Hasselback and Collins have been to pro bowls and super bowls. Collins has over 40,000 yards passing and you rather have who?

    Last years numbers...

    Collins-82.2 14tds-8ints

    McClown-00000000000000000000000000000000

    Hasselback-73.2 12tds-17ints

    Gradkowski-66.3 5tds-7ints

Sometimes i think this is the bizzaro thread.

At least Collins likes it here. He has been a model citizen here and never complained about his role. He knows the players and was more than willing to throw to the younger guys like Britt and Cook.

To me there is no real debate unless we are going to get Mcnabb.

And let's be bluntly honest here. If Locker can't beat out McClown or Gradkowski we are in trouble! McClown was third string on a 2-14 team!!!!!!

McCown is a joke, he's not an option. The more a I think about it, this lockout it probably going to go on into August/September. I don't think guys like Bulger and Hasselbeck are going to be options, they can do better than to be Locker's caddy for a year or two. I wouldn't be against David Carr actually. He's spent a lot of time in palmer's system, has a lot of experience, and would be better than guys like McCown and Gradkowski. So in short, if the court makes the stay permanent until the appeal gets decided, it really screws the Titans and limits their options.
