It's very alarming to see how many analysts say that Jake Locker was a huge reach. Haven't really heard too much good things about him like you think you would.

Colin M is a great pick I saw him here(I'm a miami fan)and this kid is a hard worker.

Worst scenario is special team's but I think he could start(I have no idea what defense we are gonna run)

Trust me on this I know I'm almost always wrong but no on this one.

Messed up mallet is getting more praise than locker.

    Harper

I'll acknowledge Harper was definitely a reach....but the thing that's great about him is that he can:

    1) Be our 3rd down back....GREAT pass catching RB at Clemson
    2) Be our goalline back....big and powerful

He should really take some of the load off CJ....I like him a lot better than Ringer, who is VERY average

I'm with you, I like Harper, just don't like where he was picked at. I personally think we shoulda grabbed a SS or CB with that pick, gotten Harper next round. But oh well :). Here's a solid video of Harper. The more research I started to do on Harper.. he wasn't a reach. Dude was projected 5th on draftscout, they're probably my favorite draft site.

Clemson Pro day: Running back Jamie Harper (5-11, 228) used the opportunity to take another shot at the 40-yard dash, hoping to improve upon his combine numbers. His 4.44 time was the best of two attempts on the fast indoor surface. He also posted a 35 1/2-inch vertical and 10-3 broad, while registering a 4.50 short shuttle and 6.94 three-cone drill. He did 23 reps on the bench press. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

He is apparently a great guy. I haven't heard a single bad thing about his work ethic, character, personality, etc. He is a great athlete. His measurables are obvious to anyone. However, in 4 years at Washington, he never really showed it on the field.

I don't really see how you can dispute any of that.

Locker has great leadership, work ethic, character, personality, and everything mentioed above. Obviously he's a good athlete, and has a below average supporting cast at Washington, playing against some talented teams. His Jr/Sr year he ran a Pro Offense under Steve Sarkisian. And had average stats:

    414/727 (57 comp%), 5,065 yards, 38 Tds, 20 INT, 47 sacks.
    773 yards, 14 TDs. 12-13 record his Jr/Sr Year.

The game that worries me, 2010 Holiday Bowl: Nebraska - 5/16 56 yards 0 TDs 0 INTs & 83 R.Yards 1 TD... but he got the win. Games that impressed me: 9/11/10 vs Syracuse: 22/33 289 Yards 4 TD 0 INT. Also 10/16 vs Oregon St 21/35 286 yards, 5 TDs 1 INT.

I think most of us, as titans fans, have the image of Steve McNair as a representative of the Titans. He was tough. He had the will to win. He gave his all. Jake Locker was a risk, but he had all of the things that Steve had. He was the tough player rather than the pretty boy. Remember, no one mentioned Blaine Gabbert before he came out early. He just has the size and arm strength. Locker was talked about. His senior season was not the best, but he was under multiple systems and brought his team from 0-12 to a bowl. He has the ability and the intangibles to pick up where Steve McNair left off.

Also remember that Harper has always shared time with a speedy back. He is familiar with the situation that he has being brought into. He plays fast and is a powerful runner
