Getting back to the Titans and free agency, I'm thinking that LB is going to be a key area for the Titans to improve. All 3 LB positions could stand to be upgraded and it will be absolutely essential to do so if Tulloch leaves (and it might be best to let him go since he is not without weaknesses).

Witherspoon is not that great and certainly not a long-term fix (at least I hope not). McRath was far from an impact player last year and he may have reached his peak already (plus you have to wonder about him now that he's off the steroids). Tulloch was a tackle machine and a good run-stuffer, but the guy has limited range. All three are pretty awful in coverage.

I think we can all agree that there's no LB worth taking at #8 in the draft. Lots of people have mentioned Bruce Carter or Mason Foster as possible picks in the 2nd and 3rd and I like that idea. But, even if the Titans draft one, neither is a superstar in the making and LB is still a major need in free agency.

The absolute best player to go get, IMO, would be Chad Greenway (currently of the Vikings). He had a great season last year and is as close to a 4-3 OLB stud as you'll find in the league outside of maybe Lance Briggs. I'd love for the Titans to get him, but it won't be easy. The Vikings probably won't want to let him go.

Another name to maybe look at for OLB is James Anderson of the Panthers. He's a one-year wonder (he filled in very well for Thomas Davis last year), but it was a really impressive year. To be honest, I'm not really sure of his contract situation (I just saw his name on a list of FA LBs for 2011).

I'd also like to see the Titans take a look at Barrett Ruud as a replacement at MLB for Tulloch. Might even be an upgrade, although maybe not since Ruud is also weak in coverage.

I like my pie-in-the-sky dreams!!!! Although I'm always the first to admit that they're crazy. I enjoy the hypothetical situations, even when they are completely ludicrous.

Always raining on my parade Toronto! lol :suspect:

I gotta admit that I don't know nearly enough about McIntosh to really say whether I think he'd be a good fit. My first instinct is that he is definitely worth a look. Would he play inside or outside? That's a pretty big question.

Peyton Manning. He's a free agent and, can you imagine, the whole state of Indiana would explode! :D

He would play outside. He played 43 OLB his career, than switched to 34ILB once the Redskins switched.

Yeah TorontoTitanFan is a mean, grumpy dude (but in a good way). Reminds me of my old Teacher Mr. Kilgore. Was tough as nails, but didn't mean anything by it and only spoke out of knowledge and experience, so he was well respected.

Leroy Harris and Amano replaces Harris at guard. Why they both switched positions last year is beyond me.
