I could care less personally about VY. I just want to win.

Whatever we did though, I'd want it made made available to the GoTitans network. Whether its running routes, talking football, or something else.

That goes out to the Rational Response Squad. Put up or shut up.

Lol I'm surprised this topic is still around. Nothing meaningful has been discussed since the beginning of the topic. This topic is basically just a circle jerk for people that don't like Vince, and people baiting each other. And clearly the tags for the thread show how neutral the people moderating the topic are lol.

Heh, I'm just teasing. Everything you can say for or against VY has been said and echoed. You know where I stand on the situation, let VY finish out his contract year (contract years tend be motivation), focus on defense in the draft, either keep Moss or pick up another veteran receiver, and winning the division isn't far fetched at all. My biggest knock on VY isn't even his character, but the random nagging injuries that doesn't seem to go away is what concerns me. Last year was supposed to be his year, and it looked like it was gonna be before he torn his thumb.

It was a great drive. 99 yards and his only TD on one drive. Maybe the best single drive I've ever watched (biased, sue me). My point is, if he had the skills, he'd have a lot more of those games. I loved him when he was here, but realistically, he wasn't a top tier QB. If you're not a top tier QB, you're not good enough, and it's time to go in another direction. I understand pass attempts, YPA, YPC, and all of that. The bottom line, however, is you have to be able to throw on any down in this league, and it takes a grade A QB to do that.

He had great passing stats. Are you referring to his ability to run an offense? Or are you saying he can't make certain throws? Just wonderin.

Both. How many times did he miss an open receiver on a short pass by 5-6 feet? He'd miss CJ in the flat when he was wide open. I'm not saying he's a bad QB, but unless you have a top 5 talent in the league, you're simply not going to win it all. Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, Phillip Rivers, Vince Young. One of those names just doesn't fit. Maybe one day he will be on that level, but not only do I doubt it, I don't want to wait around for that to happen. Twice in the past decade has a QB below grade A won the Super Bowl. Both of those guys (Dilfer and Eli) had ELITE defenses. Our defense is to elite as black is to white.

And he had good passing stats. Throwing the ball 30+ times a game is part of being a great QB. That's just as much on Jeff as anyone, but it is what it is. Great QBs are the offensive threat. Vince was number 3.

I didn't see him miss too many wide open receivers. There's a compilation of his play below.

I didn't like the injuries, but I thought his passing was pretty damm good. His passing stats reflect that.

VY isn't on the level of Rivers, or Manning, or Brady, but he doesn't have to be yet. It took those guys years and a great group of receivers to get where they're at. We're just now getting a receiving corps that's not bottom in the league. Vince's play has improved each year that he's played despite having the worst possible conditions.
