Wow....just read your answer to my wife (not a football fan) who replied "That is BS" (full word deleted here).

 

that may or maynot be true. It was in the newspaper a month ago that fans will be filing lawsuits against the owners to get the money back plus interest if the season doesn't happen.

 

It'll be okay guys. I'm calling the leagues bluff. Give this about 3 weeks.

I am not so sure about that. The league did not walk out of the talks...the players did.

The only way this gets done before May-June timeframe is if they get out of court and back to the table. The longer this stays as a legal proceeding, the greater probability of a lost season.

If this is still trudging around as a legal proceeding by mid summer we will lose at least part of the season IMO.

 

If the courts rule in favor of the players, the owners will have to unlock the gates and the old CBA will be in effect, for how long, idk. FA and draft will happen as normal. The owner's really don't want that (why they opted out in the first place in 2008), so they hired the "BEST" antitrust lawyers money can buy, ergo, the lawyers are going to makeout like bandits. On April 6th, the hearing is when all the evidence is provided, depositions are taken, etc. and then the court makes the decision. I wouldn't expect a decision before the draft, but anything is possible.

 

I'm also calling the NFL's bluff.
