Plaxico Burress would be a good WR for us.

34 when the season starts and he hasn't played football in 2 years. A step slower and very rusty at best.

What kind of thinking would make anyone think he would be a "great #2"?

Dwill and Cook are better options without the baggage and we still might draft a guy in the first 4 rounds.

 

I can't believe he'll already be 34. Sad that we all missed out on a few years in what could have been a great career.

Yes, they serve a purpose, but guns are a magnet for trouble.

 

Burress, really?

We'd be better off just resigning Moss for the veteran min. than giving that to Burress. With just a fraction of T.O's work ethic, Moss can still play. And even if we don't resign Moss, there's still at least 4 guys on our roster I rather see on the field more than Burress at this point.

 

I've always had this idea in the back of my mind, but now putting some real thought into it, I'd pass. I believe his sentence in prison will make him wiser in the choices he makes, but unlike Michael Vick, Plaxico is a WR. His new found maturity won't go as far as Mike Vick's did simply because he's not going to be looked to to lead the same way a QB is.

 

Good point, and do people really think Burress will be as motivated as Vick? Vick was looked at as "evil" by many, while Burress is looked at as just an idiot, and he does have his ring already. I doubt Burress received death threats for shooting himself. Vick had A LOT more to prove.

 

Bull. IMO Vick was never the monster the media portrayed him to be. Still tho, what he did was awful, and he has changed. Look what he's doing in Philadelphia. He never did that in Atlanta. Like it or not, Vick as a person has improved, which has allowed him as football player to improve.

And I'm sure he has thought about smacking some guy upside the head, I do that every single day myself.

 

I think we should give him a SHOT! He'd be a good TARGET for any QB.
