After the lock-out and the unfortunate, ugly mess with McNair, we should have at least kept Volek. Even though a lot of Volek's 04 numbers were inflated due to a lost season, he proved he can play. As I said many times, VY's career started prematurely, Collins was so awful in 06, VY was forced to come in. Even taking away his great W-L ratio, VY's numbers after sitting, are pretty damn good.

LOL at the people saying VY is garbage, the guy can clearly play and be successful in this league.

I'd love to keep VY if he truly got the wake-up call. And by some slim chance the front office has a change of heart, ya'll be surprised to hear that I'd love to keep Collins as a back up since I've knocked on him so much in the past. Collins is a guy who's had character problems in the past and overcame a struggle with alcoholism. So pretty much someone who was blessed with great skills (yes, keep in kind Collins was the 5th overall pick), almost threw it all away, and got another chance by realizing playing in this league is a privilege no matter how skilled you are.

Hmm, seems like taking some notes from Collins could be beneficial for VY.

Half of the board blindly hates VY because of his off-field issues, which I don't blame them for. However, its pretty hilarious when they say he's not a good QB. Maybe in 2007 he wasn't... but since coming in after our 0-6 start last year, he's played extremely well through a lot of problems with his head coach.

Its fine if you don't want him back, I'm not sure I do either, but at least man up and admit he's played well when given the chance over the past year and a half.

except when he did not play well, like in the important games that the team needed too win against top tier competition.

Yes, he had two bad games out of like 18. One against a team that made it to the superbowl (Steelers), and one against the hottest team in the league at that point (Chargers).

I can show you a stretch where Manning threw 11 picks in 3 games. Does that make him a bad QB?

Not sure why, but I was under the impression he was due his roster bonus withing ten days after the league year starts, which starts either after a new CBA is hammered out or after after the old one is completely gone. Checking into this...

Unfortunately, VY doesn't want to or can't learn defensive packages; he still has bad mechanics and foot work, you would have thought he could have improved those two things in 5 years. Yet somehow he still has won some games, is a treat to run, which will not serve him very long in this league, but he does not have the fortitude of McNair, at least I haven't seen it.

VY's bonus is due on the 10th day of the league year, which was supposed to be March 10th. Now it will be 10 days after the CBA is reached.
