I think the #1 goal for our offense is consistency and reducing the number of wasted plays. Especially those running plays that get no yardage and by running shorter routes maybe increasing our comp % just a bit.

We need to keep drives going by shortening third down yardage. We were 23rd in rd down percentage last year and 25th in comp %. We need to get in the top 15 with those stats and if we can do that it makes our defense better.

We are not a team that has to work hard on being explosive Britt and CJ will get their fair share of big plays.

If we bring in Tice, then our OL better be the balls. That'll be 3 OL coaches on our staff.

I'm also a fan of bringing in the WCO, and that's Tice's background. CJ probably fits that scheme better anyway, and would probably get more passes out of the backfield in it. Plus, Britt is a good YAC guy, and I think our other WR's would be fine in it.

I am hesitant on appointing a brand new OC under a brand new HC, but Tice is a former HC, so it is a bit different. I think people have a negative opinion of Tice because he never really did anything in Minny (sun-.500 record and 1 playoff birth), but as an assistant, he's very good.

I don't care what offense the team runs. I just want them to execute well and they'll be fine.

With that said, I don't think CJ has caught a ball cleanly in 3 years with the Titans.

CJ can catch. That was one of his strong suits coming out. I think he'll adjust if he gets more passes. It's hard to be an every down back and then transition into a receiver. Plus a lot of times his passes are desperation passes that the QB just heaves towards him under pressure.

I think CJ, Britt, DWilliams, Cook, Nate, and Hawkins would excel well in a WCO. It would be the perfect offense for Hawk who could become a deadly WR after the catch (along with Britt and Cook).

Is anyone else a little excited about all these changes?

If we get Tice and Moss, we can do the "Randy/Justin Ratio": 30 snaps to 0.

He is catching 40-50 balls a year. How many more does he need before he adjusts?

He usually catches the ball, he just bobbles it. I suspect he thinks about where he's going...

Based on what he had to work with compounded by injuries, he made adjustments and the OL actually improved. This was a big part of the reason the Bears ended up a playoff team.

I don't think anyone will say the Bears OL is anything great but a good coach finds a way to improve what he's given. I think that's why he's credited as doing a good job last season.

Partially that, but let me add to it.

Tice also received the largest fine by the NFL at the time for his role in a Superbowl Ticket scalping operation. Tice was also the HC at the time of the infamous Minnesota Vikings Love Boat scandal.

Ok, so why should I blame Tice for the Love Boat when he wasn't involved? I don't know, maybe I shouldn't, but it happened under his watch.

Those incidents have made me question his judgment. And to not know his players would be involved in something like that, seems he's out of touch or not setting enough discipline.

Also, the Bears gave up 9 sacks in one half against the Giants this year. They greatly improved from that point, but that's awfully low to go and I don't want to see that much inconsistency from any part of our offense.

This would be the first hire where I would not be excited.

I've looked at him before now in terms of stats just out of interest.

Personally I think that the loveboat/tickets scalping scenarios were blown out of proportion.

While neither scenario is acceptable I think it's the kind of thing that has always goneon with NFL teams. The Vikings got caught and came under a bigger spotlight for a while.

His 'offences' have been good and creative.:wink2:
