No conflict of interest coaching his own son?

That depends on how your perceiving this.. I believe Jacobs is about 28 years old.. not bad.. so where do I begin.. His year was ruined much like the fate of the team itself. Jacobs lost his starting spot at the beginning of the season. At this time there were talks of Tom Caughlin getting fire because of the slow start. Jacobs slowly got more and more carries as the season went on and the Giants entered back into playoff contention, ultimately failing to make it.

You are failing to see that a guy who got limited carries for most of the season still finished with about 850 rush yards, and 9 TD's.. now if you are telling me that he is not and effective runner still, and is not a great goal line presence to help lighten CJs load then I am a little surprised..

    BTW.. Yards per Carry... 5.6

The only conflict of interest is if Matthews Jr. was brought in AFTER Bruce gets here.

What's Munch and Co. supposed to do? Dump a decent young player, who will probably be a good backup just because his dad now coaches here? That doesn't seem fair.

If Bruce seriously believes there will be a conflict of interest, than fine. But this isn't high school ball where feelings should be hurt.

I heard that yesterday. It does make you wonder who had talked to him or why he postponed signing the contract. Also who is doing the hiring the coach or Bud :suspect:

Bud is pretty old - they could tell him Junior is his last name - first name Mathew. No issue.

    hey

Blount probably signed a 1 yr contract?? So it would not make a difference, if we had him or not.;-0))) HE would get more playing time for a other team. If he did great , then he would want the big money, in the next contract. SO NOW GO GET HIM!!!!!!Please!!!! Mean runner!!!!

Def after. The Fisher firing had a lot to do with the coach bailout.
