I love this move for one simple reason: It shows that Munch has what it takes to make the difficult decisions, something Fisher couldn't do.

I can't say this isn't completely shocking but somewhat, really. I like the move though, it shows Munch's willingness to assemble a fresh group that is hungry. Just don't replace him with a douche and I'd say Munch has started delivering on his promises.

    Munch isn't playin' around!

In fact, this tells me that he is almost nothing like Fisher. Didn't he even say that he had some ideas in the past to help the team, but couldn't due to his position? That kind of tells me that he didn't like the way Jeff ran the team.

I don't know what kind of success he can bring to the field yet, but he is serious about shaking things up.

I'm feeling pretty good about this hire, so far!

Yup, Munch is kind of a badass.

Props for being proactive, but why 'Dinger when Marcus Robertson is ripe for the taking? FINISH HIM!

I completely agree. The best part of this move is that it wasn't made because of his health, it was because he didn't produce. Coach Munchak is already making more moves than Fisher ever did in a single offseason. New OC, new DC things are definitely looking up for this team. One thing that Munchak stressed yesterday was holding people accountable and there would be no excuses.

Munchak is wasting no time. I'm a little bit surprised to hear this news, but not saddened like some. Dinger didn't get it done. I hope he gets healthy, and I wish his family nothing but good things. But we're going in another direction so it seems.

Word is, Matthews never signed anything in Houston, so he'll be ours soon.

I bet if Cecil were still around, Munch would have fired him during the press conference.

The fewer people we retain, the better I feel about the direction we're heading in. Munchak has all the right in the world as head coach to cut these guys and I'm glad he is. He isn't settling to buddy up and keep guys for Bud's wallet or anything. He's doing what he feels NEEDS to be done. All the respect in the world for this guy so far.

Obviously it's a shame that he has a cancer and he has the prayers and good wishes of thousands now, wherever he may go, but as a team and in a "business" view, this need was necessary to help the team grow.
