Why does everyone want Ponder? The 4-5 times I've turned on FSU he has looked pretty bad. Maybe I caught him at the wrong time? Either way, definitely do not want this guy.

I'm not a big 'Noles fan but I would love to get this guy in the 3rd, hopefully he'll be there when we pick so that we can use our first 2 picks on D.

A mock I'm participating in ... I've been able to improve my linebacking corp (Von Miller) & Guard (Rodney Hudson)

  4. My Off-Season Plan

    Head coach: Mularkey
We will need a great DC here!

CUTS: Babin, thorton, witherspoon, justin gage, Harris, Hood, Withespoon, Hope, Nickey, Bailey and Moss
Back: Tulloch, Ford, Ball, Hall, Kern, Shaw, Malcolm Sheppard, Velasco and Otto

1st - Gabbert - (QB), It's a risk, but Mularkey can grow this guy in one Year or two
2nd Round – Mason Foster (OLB) (Can cover and can tackle - we don't have one that can do both things)
3rd Round - Sione Fua (DT)
4th Round – Kelvin Sheppard (an inside linebacker with some coverage skills to hopefully be tully replacement
    5th round - Shiloh Keo (SS/PR)
6th Round - Charlie Gantt (TE)
7th Round – Allend Bradford 5-11 235lb he will be our smash to chris johnson dash

i like your thinking but i could see us also going after another receiver through free agency like a steve smith from the giants or another solid number 2 like braylon edwards or santonio holmes whichever one the jets dont keep...i like your draft fills our holes and your reasons and with your reasons giving that mcnabb has a year at least maybe two years left in the tank i could see the newton thing working possibly if not the only other thing i would change if we dont go newton would be go bpa on offense with julio jones or pouncey or defense with whoever is there and drafting devlin or ponder in the 3rd or bama's qb in the 5 or 6 and john clay in the 7th...i wouldnt mind taking bama's qb in the 5th or 6th and clay in the 7th and just switching your pick of qb to the bpa and keeping the rest of it =)

    My 2011 Titans Offseason Plan

Head Coach: Perry Fewell or Mike Munchak

Re-Sign: FB Hall, T Otto, MLB Tulloch, CB Hood, DE Ball, P Kern
Let Walk: TE Scaife, G Harris, LB Thornton, DE Ford
    Cut: WR Gage

Undecided: QB Collins (maybe 1-year vet deal) for depth depending what happens in Draft or via Trade, since he knows the offseason and has had success (2008) he can mentor a young QB for a year before retiring

    Free Agent Notables:

Guard Logan Mankins from NE (doubtful the Titans will overpay for his services though)

Guards: Daryn Colledge from GB and Atlanta has two o-line men Harvey Dahl and Tyson Clabo whose contracts are up and maybe one of them goes elsewhere

WR James Jones near my hometown of San Jose State ulimini so I am being biased here but none-the-less would be a solid addition and change of scenery after being buried on GBs depth chart he automatically be the number 2 guy here

**Trade for Kevin Kolb yes even if it means giving up a 1st pick next year

Trade Vince to Buffalo or Minnesota for a late round draft pick

    2011 Draft
Rd 1 – LB or Cover Corner are biggest needs that can be addressed early
    My Options:
    Prince Amukamara CB Nebraska
    Von Miller LB Texas A&M
    Rd 2 Best Available QB
    Christian Ponder QB Florida State
    Jake Locker QB Washington
    Rd 3 Best DT/DE Available
Doubtful DT Stephen Paea falls this far even with the knee injury and since I went QB RD 2
    Jurrell Casey DT USC
Rd 4 CB if not selected prior – otherwise pass rusher
    Ras-I-Dowling CB Virginia
    Jeremy Beal DE Oklahoma
Rd 5 Safety help to take over for Hope in a year
    DeAndre McDaniel S Clemson
Late Round Picks use on O-Line depth at Guard position and RB
    Lee Ziemba G Auburn
    Shane Vereen RB Cal

    Potential 2011 Titans Depth Chart
    QB K. Kolb | K. Collins | C. Ponder
    RB CJ | J. Ringer | S. Vereen
    FB A. Hall
    WR K. Britt | J. Jones | N. Washington | D. Williams | M. Mariani

Head Coach- Perry Fewell, Keep Dinger as OC, bring in Jim Zorn as QB coach

Re-sign: Hall, Kern, Shaw, Hayes, Velesco, Ford, Bailey, Tulloch

Do not re-sign: Babin, Ball, Allred, Collins, Douglas, Hood, Nickey, Scaife, Thorton

Release: Justin Gage, Ryan Mouton, Jovan Haye, Chris Hope, Amano

Sign as FA: Barry Coefield DT, Davin Joseph OG, Le'Ron McClain RB/FB, Desmond Clark TE (more for blocking like we used Crump

For QB: Kyle Orton- the lockout lasts until after the draft, and we are able to trade our 2012 3rd rounder for him.

Move Jason Jones to DE, back to DT on passing downs only...

    Draft:
Lions trade up pick 13, 75, and 137 for #8
(using the rankings for Draft tec, player had to be no more then 3 spots ahead of the rank on their big board in round 1 and 2, and 5 spots after)

Round 1 pick 13(from Lions) Akeem Ayers OLB UCLA (could have technically gone Von Miller here, but I didn't think it was realistic he would be there)
Round 2 pick 38 Christian Ponder QB FSU
Round 3 pick 75 (from Lions) Marvin Austin DT UNC
round 3 pick 77 Colin McCarthy ILB Miami
Round 4 108 John Moffitt OG Wisconsin
Round 5 137 (from Lions) Greg Romeus DE Pitt
round 5 139 Curtis March CB Utah
Round 6 170 Greg Little WR UNC
    Round 7 201 TeJay Johnson S TCU

I know some will say Ponder is a reach there, but if he is the QB we want, I don't feel like you can ever reach for a QB. He is moving up into the 2nd round in many mocks already. As the other QBs keep dropping, his stock will only keep going up.

    QB Orton/Ponder/Smith
    RB CJ/McClain/Ringer
    FB Hall/McClain
    WR Britt/Washington/Williams/Little/Mariani
    TE Cook/Stevens/Clark
    OT Roos/Kropog/Otto
    OG Joseph/Velasco
    C Moffitt/Matthews/Velasco
    OG Scott/Velasco
    OT Stewart/Otto/Kropog

    DE Morgan/Ford/Romeus
    DT Coefield/Austin
    DT Brown/Marks
    DE Jones/Hayes/Romeus
    OLB Ayers/McRath
    ILB Tullock/McCarthy
    OLB Witherspoon/McRath/Curran
    DB Finnegan/McCourty/Marsh
    DB Verner/McCourty/Marsh
    FS Griffin/Fuller
    SS Hope/Johnson
    K Bironas
    P Kern

I really wasn't for taking a LB in round 1, but I think picking up Coefield, and moving Jones to DE fixes our dline. Ayers is a playmaker that can start from day 1.

Two things that totally shock me on this thread. 1. How and why would anyone want KFC back? He does not win games, we cant run the ball when he plays, his arm has really showed its age the last two years, he throws as many picks as TD's over a 19 year career, he cannot play against the blitz, and the guy was not very good ten years ago, little lone now! 2. What in the world does anyone see in Ponder from FSU? This guy has done nothing. He has had talent all around him and I just do not see this guy even being worth drafting before the 6th round or even at all.

I hope we get a coach, that is not in, or from this organization, I pray that I do not have to watch KFC start a game for us next year! I can see drafting Gabbert or Mallett or the kid from Nevada but not Ponder.

as a mentor is why they have us bringing him back to mentor our rookie that we draft in the later rounds
