I don't think I said that. I think egos have got into the way of what is best for the team. I lay that squarely on the HC's step. Why? Because, the HC job is to find the best way to motivate a player to become the best of ones ability. If you are too stubborn or egotistical to do so then you need to be removed. Did VY have a hand in this you bet your . All I am saying is that I think Fisher was set in his ways from prior experiences,(Pacman, Henry and others) and did not give the same oppurtunities that he gave others.

How about the one who only won 3 games, cheated (by video taping another NFL team), got his team fined $50,000 , and got fired before the season ended.

or even the one who only won 2 games.

I mean come on: Jeff was a bad coach last year, but not the worst. that's over exaggerating it.

the problem, unfortunately, is what lingers.

he's now the "player that can get away with it" to the rest of the team. that tends to not sit well with a locker room full of players that are - in their eyes - supposed to be around a level of being equals, especially in areas of cans and can'ts

he won't have enough of a say, especially if the people who manage who's on and off the roster are still dead set against it.

you're giving an NFL head coach a little bit too much credit for where he sits power-wise in an organization

    (1) That is why he should of have been fired. It's amazing the hell of a coaching job that staff seemed to do when they were "handicapped" by vince but apparently took a vacation when Kerry came in. You know, the vet with work ethic and professionalism and knew the playbook like the back of his hand.:suspect:

    (2) He holds a meeting to discuss Vince and bans Vince from meeting about him and told his teammates he quit on them. He then goes out of his way to smear Vince in the media. Yeah, it doesn't sound like he had any personal agenda with vince. :suspect:

    (3) Big Ben wasn't voted captain and he's doing pretty well (and I'm not talking this year with his rape incident). Being voted on by the TEAM doesn't mean anything? Though the titans players were told to keep their mouths shut, one of the few titans with a little wiggle room by the name of chris johnson said something-http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/12/19/vince-young-sighting-news-to-jeff-fisher/ Please, I beg you to explain to me what captain means then if not leader? Go ahead, explain.

    I'm waiting with baited breath...........

p.s. you know why his teammates supported him when he was going through his "retirement" phase? Because they are players and have been in that same boat. Most players have. Go read up on depression and it's place in pro sports. Then maybe you will quit labeling him a quitter.

You consistently have "a reason why" for each incident of Vince's behavior that has received criticism. There is no justification, however, for a 5 year vet to cuss out his head coach in front of the team and management and then walk out. That is not what a team leader does. Oh- wait a minute, I forgot. Fisher influenced that also- Vince isn't responsible for that either. He should be "praised" for "standing up" to Darth Fisher.

They have torn down his mural at LP Field. Get over it. Vince will soon be gone. Fisher didn't decide to proceed with "trading or releasing" Vince- other Titan's officials did. I'm sure they have an evil scheme against Vince also.

I've grown tired of discussing this with you. I've tried to understand your motivation with your continuous support of a player but have resolved that you are simply "smitten" with man-love for Vince and feel like he needs someone to "champion" him. I understand your frustration that he will be gone, but get over it.

The fact that Vince will soon be gone and Fisher already is should be enough to satisfy any Titans fan that the effects this chitpile of drama between these two has on the team is over. It's time to move on.

    I agree with you.

I've even defended Vince against a lot of criticism in this thread and I think there are some things that are really questionable (like the San Diego playoff game) but I don't see the point of view that someone Vince wasn't at fault for cussing out the coach after the Washington or that it's somehow not a big deal.

Maybe if that's ALL that ever happened throughout his career, but justified or not Vince had to know going into the 2010 season that he had no margin for error in his off the field conduct.
