How long have Munchack and Fisher been together? Fisher is obviously loyal to his guys. Why else would he be mad about Cecil being fired? Cecil was terrible but hey he was a Fisher guy so he wanted him back. Now granted Munchack is a better coach than Cecil but make no mistake, Munchack is a "Fisher guy." Vince Young, wasn't a Fisher guy and it never worked between them. Munchack, Cecil, Heimerdinger, all "Fisher guys." Lets say 2016 Obama is out and you thought he was an OK guy but wanted something different, if Joe Biden is the democratic nominee, you probably wouldn't vote for him, because he's not different enough from the guy before him.

Now I realize he hasn't been hired yet and I realize we still have like a week to decide based on our own time table and maybe Munchack would be really different than Fisher but really by how much? Would you guess by a lot? I wouldn't. I would love to be wrong if we hired this guy but all the evidence points to Munchack being another Fisher. Lets build a strong defense, have a game manager at QB and win by running the ball. OH and keep it close but win in the end. The more things change the more they stay the same.

Hope I'm wrong but if we go out and say we signed the Packers offensive coordinator, now that would be something I would like, that would be something that people and the team could get behind. And it would accomplish what we claimed we wanted to do by firing Fisher which was change things up.

So we fire Fisher for a Fisher clone?

Its like star wars. Munchack is Darth Vader while Fisher is the emperor running things from the shadows.

I would not like the Munchack move at all. I would rather have Perry out of Greg, and Munchack.

If we're promoting from within, then I want Munchak. He's been a success as a player. He's been a success as an assistant coach. Hell, have you seen him in an interview? Dude could drop what he's doing and become a broadcaster. He's eloquent, shows he knows his stuff, and talks fast which will confuse our stupid fans. I'm fine with letting him have a shot at continuing the trend. But then again, I've grown quite apathetic and am in quite the, "Eh, what the hell?" mood.

This could be anyone currently on the staff, and people would still use the fairly baseless, "I don't want Fisher 2.0!!!" line. So, yeah, until you guys can inform the class about his coaching philosophy, aside from stereotyping him from being an OL Coach or being a colleague of Fisher's, it's wasted key strokes. And even if he did want to run the ball instead of having a fetish for the forward pass like Andy Reid, why is that a bad thing? Our best player is our runningback, and we gots noes QB!

This is all a waste though. The issue is QB. You can have a guy like Jim Caldwell, who I suspect is actually a hologram and not an actual human, if you have an elite QB. Players over plays (ie. Talent > coaching). We could hire Gruden instead of Munch, but if we don't resolve the QB situation and sustain success at the position, the result will be the same.

But then again, Gruden is the most over-rated HC candidate in the history of ever. Guy wins a Super Bowl with a loaded team against his former team that he knew inside and out, and then runs the Bucs into the ground. Yet people see him pointing out the obvious on MNF, and all of the sudden he's the hot name.

Runs them in the ground? He was fired after a 9-7 season...

You get an extension for that kind of coaching here.

You mean you don't know...? Don't say we need to inform the class, you know what we're talking about. You once wrote this:

To be fair, that's about as good as we may get. If that strategy works, then cool. And I think it'll have to. No rookie QB IMO gives us any better chance to win than signing a guy like Josh Johnson from the Bucs or Matt Flynn in Green Bay. Managing the game will have to work, and to do that, I guarantee we'll get back to the 1-2 punch at RB. Look for us to sign a bigger guy to wear teams down. At least thats what I'd do with the options I have. Then plug-in C.J., and watch him pop off a 50-yarder for 6.

Don't think building a strong defense, having a game manager at QB and winning by running the ball doesn't work, it certainly can. But bone head moves like paying Eugene Amano extra money to suck, sitting on leads, and giving Javon Ringer 3rd & longs's is what kills you. You know, Fisherball. There you go TitanHope. Fisherball in a nutshell.

True, but I was more so talking about the state of the team he left behind, rather than the last one he actually led. Tony Dungy left behind a Super Bowl caliber team. Gruden left behind a team that ended up going 3-13. He left things in much worse shape than he got it, and the GM Bruce Allen even got the axe.

I just think he's over-rated in contrast to his approval rating when he was fired by the Bucs, and that his exposure on ESPN has helped him. That's not to say I think he's a bad coach, or that I wouldn't want him coaching the Titans. Things would at least get interesting.

Not entirely sure where you're going with this... I'd assume you were kind of mocking my point (which would also mean you ignored/missed it), but you did the little "High Five" thingy and are friending me now, so you may be joining me in passive-aggressive effort of inciting the community with my pro-Munch propaganda. Not sure of the game you're playing, Sir JCBRAVE. Nevertheless, I think I like you (Slightly homo. Just slightly).

Fisherball is like communism. In theory, it works nice. But when it's actually applied, it sucks, everyone hates it, and everyone wants the guy heading it all to die...or be fired, I guess.

But then again, I don't know much of anything about communism. And when you think about it, Fisherball sucks even in theory. I just knows they both bad.

It was fun when Eddie George was smashing through 8 men fronts. Along with McNair,Wycheck and DMase teams knew what we wanted to do and we did it anyway.

Do we really want Munchak, I don't know much about him, and I want a HC that will lead us to victory. But I guess we could give him a shot?
